Kitchens show rooms-high end-custom-designers builders Long Island
This is the kitchen in the Gappsi showroom designed and built by Charles Cocchiola
And Mike Specchio. Starting with the removal of the old pool store including old cabinets, walls and floors. This kitchen was built to be a full functional kitchen for clients to be able to see first and the quality and care of Gappsi construction division. Dark wood cabinets and ash island cabinets and stove hood
Make this kitchen a spectacular site. The backsplash was faced with Fiorito rumbled veneers, wolf and sub-zero appliances were used to compliment this classy creation. For the counter top we used scogli di mare polished limestone, ogee edges double stacked for the kitchen counter and triple stacked for the island counter. The floor tiles were also polished 24×24 inches x 5/8 scogli di mare.
Venetian plasters were used for the walls and very detailed wood work for the molding display around doors and windows.
The celling Is a display of its own, a coffered design of wood molding in 2 tones create a very defined and artistic masterpiece that shows Charles Cocchiola and mike Specchio ability, talent and true craftsmanship.

In 1988 I installed this driveway in Manhasset Nassau county long island it was my first paving stone driveway installation in the usa.
The stones we used were Grinnell multicolor cobblestone with a double row of Holland stone in charcoal color. This costumer was one of the very first long islanders to have a paving stone driveway installed Grinnell started to manufacture pavers 1987 just a year earlier and it was one of the first manufacturers in new jersey to open up. The base material used was blue stone blend and one inch of sand was laid and the pavers were laid over it. The pavers were manufactured 3 inches thick; it was not until later that the standard sizes became 2 and 3/8. This driveway is 23 years old and it is in very good conditions accept the weathering on the pavers which is normal for a 23 year old driveway. when i installed this driveway i was 21 years old,Today is July 18 2011 and I am sure that I will be going back in 23 more years and take another picture and this driveway will still be there. After 17 years the clients moved in to a new house in sands point and I built their driveway and pool patio there too .

Gunite pool renovation custom colored marble dusting Lloyd harbor long island
Gappsi was contracted to renovate a 20 x 40 Freeform. This pool needed much prep. Much of the existing marble dust was hollow and needed to be chipped all the way down. New Tile was installed and a sky blue Marble dust. All the plumbing was pressure tested. Gappsi installed Travertine coping and a Pompeii limestone patio from the Gappsi Natural Stone Collection.

Flamed granite pavers- oversized natural granite Long Island Gappsi
24 inches x 60 inches flamed granite slabs were used to build this avenue in Washington DC. USA. 603 and 684 granite, Gappsi Dove gray granite and Gappsi Sesame gray granite. This installation was built over state approved bluestone blend and sand band was used for the placement of the 4 inches thick granite paver slabs. The simple running bond of the layout does not create much of pattern but the contrasted color alternation of the 2 different gray granite create a design and the illusion of depth . As simple as these pavers could look when stocked on a pallet No one could ever have imagined the vibrancy of the colors movement in this all gray floor. This flamed finish is produced by simple applying a flame generates by a gas propane torch on the surface of the granite pavers. This process would get the to layer of the slabs hot and making a thin layer of the
Granite pavers flak and separate uniformly leaving a rustic textured finish on the paver’s surface .this application is applied to give the granite pavers traction making it safe for cars to drive and stop on them.

This walkway was built in East Northport long island.
The base material consists of recycled concrete / rca which is crushed concrete that is produced by the recycling of concrete that get removed form old driveways, walkways and patios. This process is a very good for the environment because this old cement block would have been dumped in land fields polluting the earth. Instead it gets crushed in to grave that is perfect for the construction of patio, walkways and driveways base.
This recycled concrete during the compaction by a mechanical plate or roller compactor with the use of water sprayed on it will get very dense and will petrify over time, but still letting the rain water filter through the ground. Making this also eco friendly with out creating run of situation. The pompei paving stone supplied by Gappsi is laid over 1 inch of clean sand , the function of the sand is to separate the pompei pavers from the base material , because recycled concrete has lime in it and if in touch with the pavers this could affect the limestone pavers over time. Also the sand allows the rain water to disperse and find its way in to the ground below, further more the sand allows the Pompeii lime stones to be set and be adjusted in the sand. A thickness of about 1 to 1.5 inches of sand is installed throughout the patio and over the base. Then the pompei limestone pavers are installed and all necessary cut were done to create the shape of the walk way. a circle inlay of 6×9 Amagansett pavers was installed half way the walk way and also Amagansett 6×9 pavers were used to outline the walkway by using them as the border . This walkway includes the steps and stoop platform for the front door. Classico travertine 2 inches full nose coping was used for the step treads and the caps for the 2 columns that were built on both side of the stoop for the light fixtures that accent and illuminate the walk way and the front door entrance the columns and the step risers were faced with Hanover 3 inches chapel wall stones in tan bland to compliment the Pompeii and Amagansett pavers.
