Daily activities at Gappsi: new offers, questions, products and concepts.

This bathroom was done at 1015 Jericho tpke in Smithtown NY. We started by removing all the tile and Sheetrock till the room was just 2×4 studs. The plumbing was staying the same so all we did was change the speedy valve for the toilet to a new quarter turn speedy valve. The faucet picked was a Danze in wall style so this too was roughed in at this time. Since the room was getting tile from floor to ceiling, we I stalled 1/2″ Durock cement board to all the walls. We wanted to do something unique to make this bath stand out so we installed a custom octagon wood coffered ceiling with a central chandelier. We prepared nail holes and seems with Bomdo and painted the woodwork with white semi-gloss Benjamin Moore. The tiles used here were 1/2″ travertine color Mocha. we used 8×8 tiles the first 3.5′ high, a listello made from pencil and rock faced tile. Then came 4×4 set on a 45* angle with another pencil to cap it off with a final row of 8×8 to finish it to the ceiling. We installed a solid core 6 panel door with 3.5″ molding. we installed a bone toilet by Toto. The sink need to meet ADA specs so we had a custom piece of metal fabricated to support the travertine slab to create a floating look so there were no legs the would impede a wheelchair. We finished It off by siliconing a vessel travertine sink to the slab centered under the faucet.
