We started this project by stripping the house of all its siding & tar paper down to the plywood. We then replaced any damaged plywood with new ½ cdx plywood. We then installed VISQUEEN in the window openings & installed various types of ANDERSON 400 SERIES windows through out the house. The front door was a 36” unit with 15” side lites & an elliptical transom by THERMA-TRU. Next was to wrap the house in TYVEK & seal the joints with TYVEK tape. We also sealed the seams between the house wrap & windows with TYVEK tape. Now the TUFF-R ½” foam insulation was installed and also had its seams sealed with TYVEK tape. The homeowner decided to finish the exterior with double 7” cedar impressions vinyl siding & triple 2” vented beadboard soffit by CERTAINTEED. All rakes & fascias are capped with white aluminum & 5” gutters & leaders were installed. The portico was constructed to have the inside mimic the ellipse of the front door. We matched the existing roofing by GAF. The columns here were 10” round by 10’ high, tapered, by HB&G. We then installed all exterior light fixtures supplied by the homeowner. On the interior, we went to every window & installed low expansion spray foam by DOW PRODUCTS. The final step was to install 3 ½” colonial casing on al the windows to finish off this project.gappsi home construction division headed by Charles Cocchiola take pride in their work and live up to Gappsi standards of quality craftmenship and costumer services and that is the Gappsi way of doing business.
