Smithtown 11787 Gappsi was contracted to build a 18 x 23 x 39 free form pool using the Gappsi Concrete wall system.
This particular job was made difficult because of an old pool being buried where the new pool was going. We had no idea there was going to be debris in the ground. But we quickly found the old pool when excavating the new hole. Wood, vinyl, plumbing, concrete, chain link fence, and any other garbage from the old pool were buried in the backyard. We had to dig out the garbage and then replace the excavated hole with recycled concrete tamped in layers to provide a new stable solid surface to build the new pool on. Once construction started the job went very smooth. The customer was lucky to have hired Gappsi because many contractors would have just left the garbage under the pool or filled in the hole with dirt. Either way there would be settling and damage to the pool within a few years.
