Sealer for paving stones, recommended expert advises long island
How soon after installation can I seal unilock pavers?
Manufactured concrete pavers have cement in them. The ingredients to make pavers are sand cement and water cement is a lime based material that mixed with water will petrify.
The chemical reaction of the water and cement will make the pavers get hard , but the lime in the cement will continue to migrate to the surface for many years after the pavers are installed . to seal the pavers the best recommended way is to wait 2 years for the heavy lime to bleed out , then use a efflorescent remover/cleaner wash the pavement with water and let it dry . After it is dry you can seal it the best recommended sealer is oil based sealer. for best results must make at least 2 coats.
