Rolando,

I had a lengthy discussion with my wife last night about the estimate and our conversation. I’m trying to make this a little more palatable for us. We may look to gather additional estimates and aim for a project start date in the spring of 2011. That would also help us to save additional funds in order to pay for the work. We spent $24K on the pool and another $30K would put us at $54K in about a six months period. We were budgeting around $50K maximum.

That being said, if we could work on the price a little, perhaps we can move forward now. When we did the pool, Giuseppe said his hands were a little tied with pricing, but that he could work better with us on the stone work.

Please see that attached estimate sheet with some notes on it. If we can have the coping around the pool included at no additional charge and if we can reduce the cost per square foot of the Travertine from $12 to $10 per square foot, that would put us at an even $25,000 for the project. Then our overall out of pocket for the pool and patio would be at the $50K budget we were looking at.

If this negotiated price adjustment is acceptable to you, please let me know. If yes, we will keep the appointment for Saturday and bring a deposit check to schedule the project. Then, I’d say move ahead with the stone walls and waterfall and we’d get you some additional funds for that work now. Otherwise, I think we are leaning towards waiting for everything to be done in the spring. That would also give us more time to get more estimates.

Please let me know either way. I would also be willing to front load you some of the cost for the patio even if that work would be done later, if we can agree on the price I’ve attached.

Thanks,
Anthony
