For homeowners planning a gunite pool Mount Sinai project, this means your new backyard feature can be tailored perfectly to your property’s layout and your family’s lifestyle. Let’s explore how we can craft a one-of-a-kind design together.

By Happy Gappsi Customer GAPPSI…..THANKS FOR OUR AMAZING BACKYARD !!! When we started searching for the right people to handle our pool project, we new we wanted a design which was “distinctive” from all the rest. Incredibly, the second we saw our 3D design which Gappsi created, we immediately new we found the most amazing backyard we ever could have imagined. Our project turned into a double roman end pool with curved edges surrounded by a travertine patio, cultured stone walls with sheer descents, cabana, stoop and landscaping. We have never heard so many compliments on any other project we have done. We must applaud Giuseppe for running the most caring, efficient and professional company we have ever dealt wiith. While trying to decide which materials to be used around our pool, Giuseppe generously spent a lot of his own time traveling to a variety of his job sites to show us what the materials actually looked like in a reality setting which helped us tremendously. In addition to Giuseppe, we must also thank Kevin (the pool guy), Mike (project/masonry manager), Rolando (Landscape Designer) and Charles (Carpenter) for actually turning our 3D dream image into reality!!! We greatly appreciate the pride, time and effort everyone took to ensure that everything was to perfection, as well as, going out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable with all our decisions. To this day, its a great feeling to know that the company which has done work for you is still there for you if you needed anything at all. We will absolutely use Gappsi for all our future projects and continue to recommend them. Less

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes gunite pools so much more customizable than other types? The magic of gunite is that it’s built on-site from the ground up. We start by creating a framework of steel rebar in any shape you desire, and then a concrete mixture called gunite is sprayed over it to form a solid shell. This process completely frees us from the pre-set shapes and sizes of fiberglass or vinyl liner pools, allowing for flowing curves, sharp angles, and unique dimensions that are tailored specifically to your backyard.

Besides the shape, what other custom features can be built into a gunite pool? This is where your pool really becomes your own. We can integrate almost anything you can dream of directly into the pool’s structure. Think of shallow tanning ledges perfect for lounging, a built-in spa that flows seamlessly into the main pool, custom benches for in-water seating, or even a swim-up bar. We can also incorporate stunning water features like waterfalls or sheer descents that add movement and sound.

How long does a gunite pool last? Gunite pools are known for their incredible strength and longevity. The steel-reinforced concrete shell creates a permanent, durable structure that is built to withstand the elements for decades. With proper care and maintenance, your gunite pool is a lasting investment that will provide enjoyment for your family for many, many years.

Is a gunite pool a good option for a yard with a slope or an unusual shape? Yes, it’s often the best option. Because gunite pools are constructed on-site, they are highly adaptable to challenging landscapes. We can design the pool to work with your property’s natural slopes and unique layout, something that is much more difficult to achieve with a pre-molded fiberglass shell. This flexibility ensures the final result looks perfectly integrated with your home and yard.

What is the interior finish of a gunite pool made of? After the gunite shell cures, we apply a final interior finish that waterproofs the pool and gives it its color and texture. The most common finish is plaster, which provides a classic, smooth surface. However, you can also choose an aggregate finish, which mixes plaster with materials like pebbles or quartz for added durability and a richer look. For a truly high-end design, we can also finish the entire pool in tile.

Key Takeaways

  • Your Pool, Your Shape: Gunite construction breaks free from standard molds, allowing you to create a pool with any curve, line, or freeform design that perfectly fits your backyard and personal style.
  • Build Beyond the Basics: Think of your pool as a complete outdoor feature. Gunite allows you to seamlessly add custom elements like tanning ledges, built-in spas, and waterfalls directly into the pool’s structure.
  • Visualize the Final Result First: A truly custom project starts with a clear vision. Work with a design team that provides detailed 3D renderings so you can see and perfect your one-of-a-kind pool before construction begins.

Fantastic service and Supreme Quality From the start Guiseppe was very undertsnading to our needs and our vision. I was active duty at the start of the job and we did much of the final planning via the phone. I basically left it in his hands to make the front of my house look beautiful and he did with flying colors!!!!! When my wife sent me the pictures I called him immediatly to thank him. They installed this beautiful custom paver stoop with a flamed granite patio. I mean it was breath taking. He worked with us on the price and even waited for me to come home to pay him!!! I would recomend Gappsi to anyone and swear by their costumer service and proffesionalism!!!! Thanks Guiseppe Your friends , The Raguso’s

FANTASTIC. Gappsi recently completed our hardscape around our pool (replaced our pool coping w/ granite, installed travertine pavers, added walkways and built a retaining wall). We are absolutely delighted with the results. It was a pleasure working with Mike and his crew. They were very professional, knowledgeable and honest. Mike had some terrific ideas and suggestions. We were extremely impressed with their quality of work and attention to detail. We recommend them highly and plan to use them again next year for another project. Thanks Mike! Virginia & Frank
