The Gappsi Installation Process
Our process begins with a solid foundation. For this project, we poured a concrete base to ensure a level and durable surface. Once cured, our team expertly installed the interlocking SnapSports tiles, creating the custom design with precise line work. The quality of this flooring is exceptional, as it’s the same surface technology trusted by organizations like the NBA and AAU. We handled every detail, from installing the fencing to securing the basketball hoop, ensuring a turnkey solution for a court ready for endless hours of play.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are SnapSports tiles a good choice for a backyard sports games court? SnapSports tiles are a fantastic option because they are built for performance and safety. The interlocking system creates a surface with excellent shock absorption, which is gentler on joints during play. Plus, they are incredibly durable and designed to handle Long Island’s weather, from hot summers to icy winters, without cracking or fading.
Can I get lines for other games besides basketball? Absolutely. That’s one of the best parts of designing a custom court. While basketball is a popular choice, we can easily add permanent, painted lines for pickleball, volleyball, or even shuffleboard, just like we did for the Dix Hills project. We can help you create a true multi-game surface that suits your family’s interests.
What kind of maintenance does a court like this require? These courts are surprisingly low maintenance. The surface is designed to drain quickly, and the tiles are very resilient. For general upkeep, you can simply use a leaf blower to clear off debris or rinse it with a garden hose. It doesn’t require the constant attention that some other surfaces might.
How does an adjustable hoop make the court better for families? An adjustable hoop is a key feature for making a court usable for everyone. You can lower it for younger kids who are just learning to shoot, which builds their confidence and makes the game more fun. As they grow, you can raise the height, all the way up to the regulation 10 feet for teens and adults. It ensures the court remains a favorite spot for years to come.
Is a concrete base always required for installation? A poured concrete base provides the most stable and level foundation, which is what we recommend for optimal long-term performance and durability. It creates a solid, uniform surface for the tiles. Depending on your property’s specific conditions, we can discuss what foundation will work best to ensure your court is built to last.
