Our basic bocce ball court is constructed with 6×6 pressure treated railroad ties, a brushed concrete base, and 2 inches of bluestone dust. This application is the least expensive way to construct a bocce ball court, but it also requires the most maintenance, especially if it’s installed in a wooded area. Flowers, needles, and leaves get caught up in the bluestone angled rocks and are difficult to clean. The bluestone dust needs to be racked and re-spread yearly.

East Hampton Gunite Swimming Pool Designer & Builder. This gunite swimming pool was designed and installed by Gappsi in East Hampton, NY. This pool design is a classic Hampton style with clean straight lines and bluestone coping for both the swimming pool and spill-over spa. The inside of the swimming pool incorporates corner steps and a straight bench along the 38 ft side of the swimming pool and on both sides of the spa. Bluestone coping was custom-cut 2 inches thick, 24 inches wide, and flamed. The pool coping and patio between pool and pool house was built with bluestone flagging. The gunite shell beam was shot 24 inches wide to accommodate the bluestone coping. And as a more classical look for the Hamptons area, natural grass was installed up to the edge of the pool coping.
This swimming pool, backyard patio, and the house exterior renovation were designed by Giuseppe Abbrancati and installed by the Gappsi team. We decided to use 24×24 porcelain pavers. Porcelain pavers are very durable and require no maintenance; they are also very precise in size and thickness. Their color variations are also very consistent and the texture is very comfortable to walk on. The home owner wanted a modern and clean look, with a stucco finish for the exterior walls and a simple stack bond pattern for the patio. The colors were a perfect blend of light beige and the pool coping was made of sandblasted marble pavers. This highlighted the pool shape and also matched the white trim of the house.
