Porphyry Pavers and Copings installed in Massapequa Park NY 11762.
The project was designed by Giuseppe Abbrancati and installation was done by Gappsi professionals. This small backyard space was utilized to fit a swimming pool, patio, and cooking island. The swimming pool comes with many amenities along with porphyry patio and coping. A 28 x 28 x 14 L shaped vinyl lined swimming pool was built with many options, including LED lights, a gas heater, a chlorine salt generator, and stadium stairs across the 14 ft wide shallow area. The swimming pool was built with concrete walls and built 4 ft deep throughout the entire pool due to the high water table. Porphyry pavers and copings installed in this project, primarily contain gray colors with gold and rusty colored veins finished in a sandblasted and tumbled process. The texture and edges are very comfortable and timeless in look. They are manufactured in India in a French Pattern design. Installation was done on one inch of clean sand over four inches of poured concrete base and compacted sub base. The veneers for the cooking island are Nantucket Eldorado stacked stone, manufactured in 2 ft long panels. Custom-made corners and the yellow polished granite top for the cooking island is contrasted with the colors of the walls and the patio. All Twin Eagle appliances including a 42 inch grill, a bar sink, a garbage pail cabinet, storage cabinets, and door.

How Bocce Court Builders Design the Perfect Court
Your backyard should be a place for relaxation, not another list of chores. While the idea of a classic bocce court sounds appealing, the thought of constant maintenance, like raking bluestone dust and clearing debris, can be a major turn-off. What if you could have all the fun with virtually none of the upkeep? Modern materials have completely changed the game. Professional bocce court builders now specialize in creating beautiful, all-weather courts with synthetic turf surfaces that are easy to clean with a simple leaf blower. This means you can spend less time working and more time playing.

Bocce Ball Court Company Servicing both Nassau and Suffolk County on Long Island NY. Gappsi offers design and complete installation of bocce ball construction. We offer many alternatives to our clients, from a basic package to a premium and deluxe bocce ball court option. Our basic bocce ball court is constructed with 6×6 pressure treated railroad ties, a brushed concrete base, and 2 inches of bluestone dust. This application is the least expensive way to construct a bocce ball court, but it also requires the most maintenance, especially if it’s installed in a wooded area. Flowers, needles, and leaves get caught up in the bluestone angled rocks and are difficult to clean. The bluestone dust needs to be racked and re-spread yearly. Gappsi is a bocce ball court company that has built many projects over the years and has the experience to create bocce ball courts to fit any budget. Our premium bocce court is built with 6×6 pressure treated railroad ties recycled concrete base and synthetic and standard synthetic turf. This court is more expensive the the basic court but it is easier to maintain because leaves and other debris can be easily cleaned off the surface using a blower. If you are looking for a Bocce ball courts company that can build the best court in your backyard, look no further. Our deluxe bocce court is the ultimate experience and is at the level for professionals to use. Our exclusive bocce turf is made especially for Gappsi and provides the best game experience. Frequently Asked Questions
My yard isn’t huge. What’s the minimum space I need for a bocce court? While a regulation court is quite large, most residential courts are built to fit the space you have available. We often build courts around 10 feet by 60 feet, but the final dimensions are completely flexible. The best approach is to have us look at your property so we can design a court that feels like a natural and intentional part of your landscape.
How much easier is a synthetic turf court to maintain compared to a traditional one? The difference is significant. A traditional bluestone court requires regular raking to keep the surface even, and cleaning out leaves or pine needles can be a tedious task. With a synthetic turf court, maintenance is as simple as using a leaf blower to clear away any debris. This lets you spend your time playing the game, not preparing the court.
Does playing on synthetic turf feel different than playing on a traditional bluestone court? Modern synthetic turf is engineered to provide an excellent playing experience. It offers a smooth and consistent surface, allowing the balls to roll true every time. Our exclusive deluxe turf is even designed to meet professional standards, so you get an authentic feel without any of the traditional upkeep.
Are the court designs limited to the Basic, Premium, and Deluxe packages? Not at all. Think of those packages as starting points to help you understand the options. We design and build completely custom courts tailored to your backyard’s style, your budget, and how you plan to use the space. We can help you choose the right materials and features to create a court that’s perfect for you.
What’s the first step if I’m interested in getting a bocce court built? The best way to start is by giving us a call or visiting our showroom. We can talk through your ideas, look at your property, and discuss the different material and design options. From there, we can create a plan that brings your vision for a backyard bocce court to life.
Key Takeaways
- Prioritize low-maintenance materials: While traditional bluestone dust is an option, it requires constant raking and cleaning. A synthetic turf surface gives you an excellent playing experience with far less work, usually just needing a quick cleanup with a leaf blower.
- Design a court that fits your space: You don’t need a regulation-size yard to enjoy bocce ball. A professional can build a court tailored to your property’s dimensions and your budget, with 10 x 60 ft being a popular residential size.
- Spend more time playing, less time working: Choosing a modern, easy-to-care-for court is an investment in your own leisure time. It ensures your backyard is a source of fun and relaxation, not another weekend chore.

We combined the pool and spa into one seamless system, updated all the essential components from plumbing to lighting, and replaced the old patio with elegant limestone pavers. Frequently Asked Questions
Why did you combine the pool and spa instead of keeping them separate? Combining the pool and spa creates a beautiful, unified look, especially with the water cascading from the spa into the pool. It’s also more efficient. By having them share the same pump, filter, and heater, you simplify maintenance and can reduce operational costs. It makes the whole system work together seamlessly for a better experience.
What are the benefits of using limestone pavers for the patio? Limestone pavers offer a major upgrade from older materials like clay brick. They provide a more modern and elegant appearance that can completely change the feel of a backyard. Beyond looks, limestone is incredibly durable and tends to stay cooler underfoot compared to many other materials, which is a huge plus on hot summer days. It creates a more comfortable and luxurious patio surface.
Is it always necessary to replace the plumbing during a pool remodel? While it’s not a requirement for every project, we often recommend replacing old plumbing during a significant remodel. Over time, pipes can degrade and become less efficient. Installing new PVC plumbing, as we did here, ensures the entire system is reliable for years to come. It’s a proactive step that helps prevent leaks and other costly issues down the road.
How long does a complete pool and patio renovation usually take? The timeline for a pool remodel can vary quite a bit depending on the scope of the work. A project like this one, which involved structural changes, new plumbing, and a full patio replacement, requires careful planning. Factors like weather and material availability also play a role. The best approach is to schedule a consultation so we can give you a more precise timeline based on your specific project.
My pool is old, but I’m not sure if it needs a full remodel. What are some signs to look for? If you’re wondering whether it’s time for an update, there are a few key things to look for. Visible signs include cracks in the surface, worn or missing tiles, and a dated overall appearance. You might also notice that your equipment is running inefficiently or that you’re constantly dealing with leaks. If your pool area no longer fits your lifestyle or requires frequent repairs, it’s probably a good time to consider a remodel.
Key Takeaways
- Combine your pool and spa for a seamless design: Integrating a separate spa into your pool’s system not only creates a beautiful waterfall effect but also simplifies maintenance by using a single set of equipment for both.
- A patio upgrade can redefine your entire space: Swapping out dated materials, like old clay bricks, for a more modern and elegant option like limestone pavers is a powerful way to completely transform the look and feel of your backyard.
- Focus on foundational updates for a lasting renovation: A successful remodel goes deeper than just appearances; updating essential components like plumbing, lighting, and interior finishes ensures your pool is as functional and durable as it is beautiful.
