How Bocce Court Builders Design the Perfect Court

Your backyard should be a place for relaxation, not another list of chores. While the idea of a classic bocce court sounds appealing, the thought of constant maintenance, like raking bluestone dust and clearing debris, can be a major turn-off. What if you could have all the fun with virtually none of the upkeep? Modern materials have completely changed the game. Professional bocce court builders now specialize in creating beautiful, all-weather courts with synthetic turf surfaces that are easy to clean with a simple leaf blower. This means you can spend less time working and more time playing.

Bocce Ball Courts Company | Long Island NY

Bocce Ball Court Company Servicing both Nassau and Suffolk County on Long Island NY. Gappsi offers design and complete installation of bocce ball construction. We offer many alternatives to our clients, from a basic package to a premium and deluxe bocce ball court option. Our basic bocce ball court is constructed with 6×6 pressure treated railroad ties, a brushed concrete base, and 2 inches of bluestone dust. This application is the least expensive way to construct a bocce ball court, but it also requires the most maintenance, especially if it’s installed in a wooded area. Flowers, needles, and leaves get caught up in the bluestone angled rocks and are difficult to clean. The bluestone dust needs to be racked and re-spread yearly. Gappsi is a bocce ball court company that has built many projects over the years and has the experience to create bocce ball courts to fit any budget. Our premium bocce court is built with 6×6 pressure treated railroad ties recycled concrete base and synthetic and standard synthetic turf. This court is more expensive the the basic court but it is easier to maintain because leaves and other debris can be easily cleaned off the surface using a blower. If you are looking for a Bocce ball courts company that can build the best court in your backyard, look no further. Our deluxe bocce court is the ultimate experience and is at the level for professionals to use. Our exclusive bocce turf is made especially for Gappsi and provides the best game experience. It requires no maintenance and also comes with personalized engraved bocce balls and 2 putting green holes on each end of the court. Regulation size bocce court is 13 x 90, but a bocce court can be any size. We build our residential bocce courts to 10 x 60 ft long but it depends on yard size. Frequently Asked Questions

My yard isn’t huge. What’s the minimum space I need for a bocce court? While a regulation court is quite large, most residential courts are built to fit the space you have available. We often build courts around 10 feet by 60 feet, but the final dimensions are completely flexible. The best approach is to have us look at your property so we can design a court that feels like a natural and intentional part of your landscape.

How much easier is a synthetic turf court to maintain compared to a traditional one? The difference is significant. A traditional bluestone court requires regular raking to keep the surface even, and cleaning out leaves or pine needles can be a tedious task. With a synthetic turf court, maintenance is as simple as using a leaf blower to clear away any debris. This lets you spend your time playing the game, not preparing the court.

Does playing on synthetic turf feel different than playing on a traditional bluestone court? Modern synthetic turf is engineered to provide an excellent playing experience. It offers a smooth and consistent surface, allowing the balls to roll true every time. Our exclusive deluxe turf is even designed to meet professional standards, so you get an authentic feel without any of the traditional upkeep.

Are the court designs limited to the Basic, Premium, and Deluxe packages? Not at all. Think of those packages as starting points to help you understand the options. We design and build completely custom courts tailored to your backyard’s style, your budget, and how you plan to use the space. We can help you choose the right materials and features to create a court that’s perfect for you.

What’s the first step if I’m interested in getting a bocce court built? The best way to start is by giving us a call or visiting our showroom. We can talk through your ideas, look at your property, and discuss the different material and design options. From there, we can create a plan that brings your vision for a backyard bocce court to life.

Key Takeaways

  • Prioritize low-maintenance materials: While traditional bluestone dust is an option, it requires constant raking and cleaning. A synthetic turf surface gives you an excellent playing experience with far less work, usually just needing a quick cleanup with a leaf blower.
  • Design a court that fits your space: You don’t need a regulation-size yard to enjoy bocce ball. A professional can build a court tailored to your property’s dimensions and your budget, with 10 x 60 ft being a popular residential size.
  • Spend more time playing, less time working: Choosing a modern, easy-to-care-for court is an investment in your own leisure time. It ensures your backyard is a source of fun and relaxation, not another weekend chore.

Nicolock Paving Stones | Installer | Contractor | Company | East Northport | Long island NY | 11731

Nicolock Paving Stones | Installer | Contractor | Company | East Northport | Long island NY | 11731Letter from Customer for work completed in 2008
“We spent a lot of time to investigate and look around for the best person who did driveways and the backyard work. After looking at many other contractors’ work and seeing Giuseppe’s work we quickly decided to give our project to Giuseppe to design and built our swimming pool with an auto cover. Our pool is safe and it stays clean thank to the expertise of Gappsi Pools. We had a salt water system installed and Gappsi did a great job building it. He got our permit very fast and completed the pool very quickly We had Nicolock colonial cobble autumn blend paving stones with Granite City borders and full nose coping as the masonry patio build around the swimming pool. The backyard also incorporates a multi-level raised patio with a bbq and bar sitting area; planting beds for flowers and trees were created along the top of the walls. Walkways were built on both side of the house to connect to the driveway and the front of the house. The driveway was designed with inlays of fans for the driveway apron and a large circle designed courtyard with a paver art sun design in the center and a grand entrance walk way to the front door… Giuseppe has a lot of knowledge of what he does. His work amazed us when we went to see many projects he did many years ago. Those places still look good like brand new. He really works hard to give you the best product and he really cares for the best end results. He has such amazing ideas and he listened to all our needs. Like other contractors, he does not talk you into doing more work with him if it’s not going to look good. He gives you the best advice. Doing a brand new construction we came across many contractors but no one was as near good as Giuseppe is. He starts the Job when he tells you and finishes on time. It was very difficult to go through all the construction we did and dealing with other contractors for the house. His work was so fast and neat. After having him work on our backyard and the driveway we really wish that we had a contractor like him doing our whole house. Giuseppe’s workers were very nice, respectful, on time and meticulous. We also want to mention that In our community, we came across at least 4 people who worked with him in the past and are very happy with his work. We recommend Giuseppe and Gappsi and welcome others to see the beautiful work which he did in our backyard and the driveway.”
