Over the years Gappsi has participated and donated Labor to many Long Island Schools. This John Quince Adam School in Deer Park was in need of masonry entrance to create a more welcoming appearance and also a sign stand, decorated with seasonal landscape. Making Long Island Schools and neighborhood better for the future generations.
East Hampton Gunite Swimming Pool Designer & Builder. This gunite swimming pool was designed and installed by Gappsi in East Hampton, NY. This pool design is a classic Hampton style with clean straight lines and bluestone coping for both the swimming pool and spill-over spa. The inside of the swimming pool incorporates corner steps and a straight bench along the 38 ft side of the swimming pool and on both sides of the spa. Bluestone coping was custom-cut 2 inches thick, 24 inches wide, and flamed. The pool coping and patio between pool and pool house was built with bluestone flagging. The gunite shell beam was shot 24 inches wide to accommodate the bluestone coping. And as a more classical look for the Hamptons area, natural grass was installed up to the edge of the pool coping.
This small backyard was designed by Giuseppe Abbrancati and installed by Gappsi in Merrick, Long Island NY in 2018 on a spectacular waterfront property. The layout incorporates a gunite swimming pool with a spa, corner stairs, benches, and sheer descent water features that were installed along one side of the pool facing the house. The pool also has a safety auto cover, automation system, LED lights, salt chlorine generator, and an ozone system.
The pool finish consists of Diamond Brite French Gray with tile markers installed at the edges of the steps and benches. Pennsylvania blue-stone was used for the coping and the patio was paved with Pompeii limestone selected from Gappsi showroom. A gas fire pit was installed on the circular shaped patio and Acadia Go-Green synthetic turf was used to cover the remaining yard space. The deck was modified to accommodate the new backyard layout.

In this basement we removed asbestos tiles that were glued down with liquid asphalt. The concrete floor was then grinded down to remove the tar and prepare the surface for the installation of the vapor barrier coating. Right after the first application of epoxy yellow vinyl, flakes were thrown widely in the wet epoxy and were left to stick and dry for the next 24 hours. The next step was to vacuum the loose vinyl flakes off the floor and lightly scrape the floor to flatten the surface. The final step was to apply a clear coat of the epoxy over the vinyl flakes. This gives the floor a smooth finish and covering the flakes prevents them from getting ripped off the floor. In this basement we did not apply any hardener coat over the epoxy because the floor is not used for vehicular traffic. In a garage floor or any vehicular trafficked area, a layer of urethane would need to be applied to harden the surface of the epoxy finish. This last process prolongs the wearing of the floor and also protects it from any UV light coming through the window and doors.
