Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to remodel my entire room just to update my fireplace? Not at all. While the project we featured involved a complete room transformation, many homeowners choose to focus solely on the fireplace. A new stone veneer or a modern surround can completely change the feel of a room on its own. We can help you decide on a scope that fits your goals and budget, whether it’s a simple facelift or a full-scale renovation.

Besides cultured stone, what are some other modern material options for a fireplace surround? The options are incredibly diverse now. For a clean, minimalist look, large-format porcelain slabs are a fantastic choice and can even mimic natural marble or concrete. If you prefer something warmer, reclaimed wood mantels paired with sleek tile can create a beautiful contrast. We work with a wide range of materials to find the perfect fit for your home’s specific style.

Can a fireplace remodel also improve its heating efficiency? Absolutely. A remodel is the perfect opportunity to address the function of your fireplace, not just its form. This could involve installing a new, more efficient gas or electric insert, which can provide better heat with less maintenance. We can also assess the chimney and flue to ensure everything is working safely and effectively as part of the project.

How do I make sure the new fireplace style fits with the rest of my home? This is a key part of our design process. We don’t just look at the fireplace; we look at your entire living space, from the architecture to your furniture and decor. We’ll guide you through selecting materials, colors, and textures that complement what you already have, ensuring the final result feels cohesive and intentional, not out of place.

What’s the first step if I’m considering a fireplace remodel? The best way to start is with a simple conversation. During an initial consultation, we can discuss your ideas, look at your current space, and show you material samples. This helps us understand your vision and gives you a clear picture of the possibilities. From there, we can develop a design and a plan to bring it to life.
