How Bocce Court Builders Design the Perfect Court

Your backyard should be a place for relaxation, not another list of chores. While the idea of a classic bocce court sounds appealing, the thought of constant maintenance, like raking bluestone dust and clearing debris, can be a major turn-off. What if you could have all the fun with virtually none of the upkeep? Modern materials have completely changed the game. Professional bocce court builders now specialize in creating beautiful, all-weather courts with synthetic turf surfaces that are easy to clean with a simple leaf blower. This means you can spend less time working and more time playing.

Bocce Ball Courts Company | Long Island NY

Bocce Ball Court Company Servicing both Nassau and Suffolk County on Long Island NY. Gappsi offers design and complete installation of bocce ball construction. We offer many alternatives to our clients, from a basic package to a premium and deluxe bocce ball court option. Our basic bocce ball court is constructed with 6×6 pressure treated railroad ties, a brushed concrete base, and 2 inches of bluestone dust. This application is the least expensive way to construct a bocce ball court, but it also requires the most maintenance, especially if it’s installed in a wooded area. Flowers, needles, and leaves get caught up in the bluestone angled rocks and are difficult to clean. The bluestone dust needs to be racked and re-spread yearly. Gappsi is a bocce ball court company that has built many projects over the years and has the experience to create bocce ball courts to fit any budget. Our premium bocce court is built with 6×6 pressure treated railroad ties recycled concrete base and synthetic and standard synthetic turf. This court is more expensive the the basic court but it is easier to maintain because leaves and other debris can be easily cleaned off the surface using a blower. If you are looking for a Bocce ball courts company that can build the best court in your backyard, look no further. Our deluxe bocce court is the ultimate experience and is at the level for professionals to use. Our exclusive bocce turf is made especially for Gappsi and provides the best game experience. It requires no maintenance and also comes with personalized engraved bocce balls and 2 putting green holes on each end of the court. Regulation size bocce court is 13 x 90, but a bocce court can be any size. We build our residential bocce courts to 10 x 60 ft long but it depends on yard size. If you are in need of a bocce ball court company, Gappsi is the company for you. Please contact us at 631-543-1177 or visit our showroom at 1015 West Jericho Turnpike in Smithtown NY.

Frequently Asked Questions

My yard isn’t huge. What’s the minimum space I need for a bocce court? While a regulation court is quite large, most residential courts are built to fit the space you have available. We often build courts around 10 feet by 60 feet, but the final dimensions are completely flexible. The best approach is to have us look at your property so we can design a court that feels like a natural and intentional part of your landscape.

How much easier is a synthetic turf court to maintain compared to a traditional one? The difference is significant. A traditional bluestone court requires regular raking to keep the surface even, and cleaning out leaves or pine needles can be a tedious task. With a synthetic turf court, maintenance is as simple as using a leaf blower to clear away any debris. This lets you spend your time playing the game, not preparing the court.

Does playing on synthetic turf feel different than playing on a traditional bluestone court? Modern synthetic turf is engineered to provide an excellent playing experience. It offers a smooth and consistent surface, allowing the balls to roll true every time. Our exclusive deluxe turf is even designed to meet professional standards, so you get an authentic feel without any of the traditional upkeep.

Are the court designs limited to the Basic, Premium, and Deluxe packages? Not at all. Think of those packages as starting points to help you understand the options. We design and build completely custom courts tailored to your backyard’s style, your budget, and how you plan to use the space. We can help you choose the right materials and features to create a court that’s perfect for you.

What’s the first step if I’m interested in getting a bocce court built? The best way to start is by giving us a call or visiting our showroom. We can talk through your ideas, look at your property, and discuss the different material and design options. From there, we can create a plan that brings your vision for a backyard bocce court to life.

Key Takeaways

  • Prioritize low-maintenance materials: While traditional bluestone dust is an option, it requires constant raking and cleaning. A synthetic turf surface gives you an excellent playing experience with far less work, usually just needing a quick cleanup with a leaf blower.
  • Design a court that fits your space: You don’t need a regulation-size yard to enjoy bocce ball. A professional can build a court tailored to your property’s dimensions and your budget, with 10 x 60 ft being a popular residential size.
  • Spend more time playing, less time working: Choosing a modern, easy-to-care-for court is an investment in your own leisure time. It ensures your backyard is a source of fun and relaxation, not another weekend chore.

As a Basement Remodeling Contracting Company, we understand how important it is to make sure there is no water coming through the basement walls and floors. Two inch styrofoam panels are placed on top and then the soil is filled in to push against the foundation walls for a better insulation on the outside. R15 fiberglass insulation is also installed in between the 2×4 studs against the foundation walls. It is used to soundproof the basement from the rooms above.

Epoxy Floors Design and Installation Long Island NY

Epoxy Floors Design and Installation Long Island NYEpoxy Floors

Epoxy floors have become very popular in the past decade. The versatility of the material is unmatched by any other product. There is an unbelievable variety in color, and the finishes vary from rustic-working-garage type flooring finishes, to elegant marbleized hotel lobbies or residential homes. Gappsi provides epoxy floors solutions to all residents on Long Island for both Nassau and Suffolk Counties in NY.  Get  your epoxy products installed by a reputable company.

Installation Process

In this basement we removed asbestos tiles that were glued down with liquid asphalt. The concrete floor was then grinded down to remove the tar and prepare the surface for the installation of the vapor barrier coating. Right after the first application of epoxy yellow vinyl, flakes were thrown widely in the wet epoxy and were left to stick and dry for the next 24 hours. The next step was to vacuum the loose vinyl flakes off the floor and lightly scrape the floor to flatten the surface. The final step was to apply a clear coat of the epoxy over the vinyl flakes. This gives the floor a smooth finish and covering the flakes prevents them from getting ripped off the floor. In this basement we did not apply any hardener coat over the epoxy because the floor is not used for vehicular traffic. In a garage floor or any vehicular trafficked area, a layer of urethane would need to be applied to harden the surface of the epoxy finish. This last process prolongs the wearing of the floor and also protects it from any UV light coming through the window and doors. Gappsi provides Epoxy floors solutions to all residents on Long Island for both Nassau and Suffolk County NY.
