Gunite Swimming Pool Built in Massapequa, NY by Gappsi.

Gunite Swimming Pool Built in Massapequa, NY by Gappsi. This Gunite swimming pool was built by Gappsi in Massapequa, south of Montauk Highway. Due to the high water table and to avoid dewatering the pool was built with a 6 ft deep end and also raised 8 inches high above one section of the patio.
The Gunite shell incorporates a cage of Rebars 12 inches on center and 8 inches Gunite floor and 10 inches walls. The pool size is 16×32 and built within the pool are stadium stairs across shallow end 16 ft wide, and in the opposite side a 16 feet 18 inch wide bench across the deep end to allow more sitting in the pool.
Beige quartz tiles were installed along the pool wall at water line. The pool plaster consisted of cappuccino quartzscapes
Quartz dust is much harder then Marbledust thus making the pool finish last 3 times as long as any Marbledust. At Gappsi we prefer utilizing quality finish and durable materials to provide our customers with long lasting and worry free Gunite swimming pools.
This pool also incorporates a beige autocoder that opens and closes in 30 seconds to the touch of a button. It is an energy saving, chemical free and low maintenance swimming pool. In this particular backyard with limited space the installation of a fence would have not been possible and would have made the pool and backyard patio two separate areas creating a less functional and esthetically unpleasing backyard.
The pool wall also incorporates a raised wall section above the pool coping with 3 sheer descends for a water cascading water feature. Fiorito travertine coping, pavers, and wall veneers were used throughout the backyard walls and patios. This stone is an exclusive natural stone product from the Gappsi stone collection. The pool equipment used was made by Hayward including the Hominologic control panel veritable speed pump, cartridge filter, salt chlorine generator, and ozone3 purification system . All plumbing consisted of 2 inches hard pvc pipes with 2 skimmers 3 jet returns and dual bottom drain.
The lighting package consisted of 3 led low voltage lights.

Gunite Pool Contractor- Company- West Islip-Long Island -NY

This Gunite pool was built by Gappsi in West Islip NY. The pool size is 18×38 and Pool depth is 6 ft which makes this Gunite swimming pool a non-diving pool. With stadium stairs in the shallow area of the pool and swim out benches on each side of the deep end. This pool also has an automated safety cover which allows the pool area to be open to the rest of the yard. Fencing around the pool is not required thus making the pool patio more accessible and functional. The plumbing for this Gunite pool was done using 2 inches wide 40 schedule PVC pipes; this allows water to flow and filter at a faster rate. The pool plaster finish consists of black envil quartsscape, unlike Marbledust, is a much harder material which makes the finish of this pool last 2 or 3 times longer with the proper maintenance. A 6 inch porcelain tile bend was installed to the top perimeter of the pool wall. The tile line is used to counter water marks that occur on the walls; the tiles are also weather chemicals resistant. The pool water is leveled to the center of the tiles so halt of the tiles will always be exposed to the elements.
The coping and patio was paved using flamed 2 inch bluestone tread and patio using random sized flagging with 1/2 inch cement joint in between. The pool equipment was a combination of Jandy and Hayward pump, filter and heater, to keep the water sanitized. A salt clarion generator and an ozone system were installed and the combination of these two will keep water free of alleges and impurities which makes this pool a maintenance and chemical free Gunite swimming pool.

4 types of Gunite Pools

Gunite pools have become an extremely popular choice for homeowners due to their durability and customizable design and installation. Unlike fiberglass pools which are delivered prefabricated and then installed, gunite pools are designed and built custom, allowing the flexibility to build a one of a kind pool. Here is a list of 4 types of Gunite pools.
Variable Depth
With a Gunite pool you can choose the depth of your pool. There are no size or depth restrictions. Your pool can be designed specifically for your yard and swimming requirements. This makes adding a slide or diving board more feasible if you have an unconventional space.
Vanishing Edge
A vanishing edge can really set your pool apart from the competition. Also known as an infinity pool, the water flows over the edge producing an illusion of no edge. A vanishing edge is often used to make it appear that the edge of the pool is merged with an ocean or skyline view.
Geometric
Because Gunite pools are custom designed, you can get creative with the layout. If you have limited space or a unique idea, Gunite offers the flexibility to design a pool that’s unique to your taste, but that also works within the requirements of your yard.
Indoor
Gunite is perfect for an indoor pool. It is preferable to design your indoor pool when the house is being constructed. However, Gunite can be designed with an existing space in mind. No project is too big or to small. If your’e looking to install a pool inside your house, then Gunite will compliment you interior rather than clash with it.

Gunite Pool Installation – Long Island

Gunite Pool Installation - Long Island
We recently built this gunite pool in East Norwich, a hamlet of Oyster Bay.
It features spill over spa corner stairs, an 8 foot depth with tile borders. There is also a white marble dust plaster finish with a bluestone coping and patio.
Some of the benefits of a gunite pool over a fiberglass pool is that gunite pools are highly durable and can be built in almost any shape so that you have the correct size for your outdoor landscape. They’re also built to last and you will get many more years out of them verse a fiberglass pool.
The sky is the limit when it comes to customization as each pool is designed specifiacally for each customer. You can create a gunite pool of any size, shape or depth. We can also add certain features such as underwater benches, spas and waterfalls.
If you’re looking for a Long Island Gunite Pool Company, you’ve come to the right place.
