Decks are constructed out of 2×10 pressure treated lumber for joists with triple 2×12 girders set on 12” cement piers 36” below grade. But the finishing of a deck can be any type of wood desired or a composite material such as Timbertech or Azek offers much less maintenance than most woods. The planks can be screwed down or hidden fasteners used. The under carriage of the deck is concealed with soldier courses of the same material used on top. Single or double row borders can be added on top to enhance the style of the finished deck. Railings are often made from any of the natural woods used or any of Timbertech, Azek or Tamko products also.

Snow questions and advises, products to safely melt ice long Island

Calcium chloride is very safe to use on concrete pavers and natural stones.
Shoveling snow off pavers is also safe when stones are frozen the shovel slides off the surface easer. The use of sand is also recommended to create a better grip of the shoes to the floor. The use of a plow over a stone driveway is also ok but the driver as to be knowledgably and also aware of the pavement that he is plowing. Because a plow can damage any type of pavement. It is recommended to keep the plow one inch above the pavement surface and then throw calcium chloride over the left over snow to melt or even some fertilize will work. But also a fiberglass plow is the ideal for snow removal to prevent damages to the pavement. The best way to have snow removed from your driveway is to hire some neighborhood kids and clean it with a shovel this will prevent any damage to occur. It is recommended to throw some ice melt on the driveway, walkway and steps before a snow storm arrives or to wait for the storm to end before you clean the snow. Because the snow will melt if you have ice melter on the pavement and if you clean after the storm the snow is soft and is not packed on to the floor and it is easy to shovel. If rain comes after the snow storm it could melt the snow but it could also create a thick ice sheet
And this could be very dangerous and also very difficult to remove and melt.
It is recommended that you don’t drive over snow because this would flatten the snow and make it very difficult to remove with a shovel and or plow. Limestone pavers are made of several components, fossils of marine animals and sediments called calcium carbonate. This is created by lime discharge from sea coral and left on the sea beds. Limestone is a quarried stone which means that it can be cut into any desired size for perhaps coping or random sized pavers.
There are many different stone quarries to get limestone from, so this ensures a wide variety of shapes, texture, veining and color variations. One of the best parts about using natural stone like Limestone is the wide variety of colors that are offered from whites and beiges, to orange, reds and terra cottas, to browns, to pinks, coppers, grays and blues. The fact that Limestone is a very strong stone; its uses are wide range such as: driveways, countertops, veneer, patios and building structures. Limestone can also come in different finishes depending on where you get the Limestone and what you are using it for.
Limestone application is the same as pavers, these pavers come in many custom shapes to fit any application, like fireplaces or coping. Garden ornaments, table, benches and flower pots.
