Over the years Gappsi has participated and donated Labor to many Long Island Schools. This John Quince Adam School in Deer Park was in need of masonry entrance to create a more welcoming appearance and also a sign stand, decorated with seasonal landscape. Making Long Island Schools and neighborhood better for the future generations.
Outdoor kitchens and cooking islands have become a focal point in outdoor living construction. Many outdoor kitchen designers and masonry contractors suggest to build them as part of their clients’ outdoor living areas. A good amount are built with Nicolock wall systems with a variety of appliances. These include grills, gas burners, sinks, refrigerators, bar sinks, hoods, ovens, ice makers, or just cabinets spaces.
Wolf outdoor cabinets are getting very popular among outdoor cooking islands builders. They are high quality and provide a real, clean look of the appliances and the cooking island. The back and front yard masonry design of this private residence in West Islip, NY provides functionality and accommodates all elements in its layout. This includes a U-shaped cooking island built with Nicolock adobe blend terra wall. It is covered with a PVC pergola for shade, a granite counter top, a wood burning oven, a gas grill refrigerator, an ice maker, a sink, and many storage cabinets.
The patio is built raised two steps up from the grass area. The perimeter walls are built with Nicolock oyster blend mini-colonial walls and capped with granite city colonial caps. In many places, the walls are built up to create accent columns to hold the light fixtures and sitting walls. The fire pit area is built in a circular shape with a comfortable bench built within the walls. The patio is built with XL stone ridge adobe blend pavers and a double border design with granite city roma pavers. This patio area is large enough to accommodate many table.
Walkways on both side of the house are built to connect to the circular driveway Adobe blend stone ridge pavers are installed over 1 inch of sand and 8 inches of state approved grade recycled concrete base. The layout includes a double border design with circle fan inlays in the driveway aprons, 2 light piers installed on each side of the driveway, and aprons veneered with Boral cultured stone matching the house exterior walls. Bluestone caps and treads were used for the cumulus, front door steps, and porch.
This backyard was designed by Giuseppe Abbrancati and installed by Gappsi in Babylon, Long Island NY. The layout incorporates a lower patio, a fire pit area with a sitting wall, and a bar area with a pergola built over it. This provides shade from the sun and accents the sitting area and the bar island. The upper patio is one step down from the backyard sliding doors, making it very easy and comfortable walking out into the backyard. A flowerbed defines the edge of the patio allowing room for flowers and a birdbath fountain. The main use of the raised patio is to accommodate the main large dining table and the cooking island for the grill and other outdoor appliances. Manufactured retaining walls were used to create the elevations and structure for the steps, columns, sitting walls, cooking island, and bar island. The floors were paved with ivory travertine, containing a color scheme of browns, beige, and white colors, to ornate this detailed and functional backyard setting.
