Complete Backyard Designed in East Islip NY

Complete Backyard Designed in East Islip NYThe family in this East Islip home wanted a pool for entertaining that was built to last. Giuseppe Abbrancati, owner/designer of Smithtown-based Gappsi, Inc. suggested a gunite saltwater pool in a Sports Pool style design where both sides of the pool are shallow and the deep end is in the middle. “Gunite pools make a statement. They are a very customizable pool. That is why you see a sundeck, round steps, and LED lights inside the pool. You can shape the cement any way you want it and apply any finish. They are also highly durable,” says Abbrancati who has been building pools for the last thirty years. “The deepest part of this pool is six feet. It’s built like that so you can play volleyball in the pool and its fair ground,” he adds. Abbrancati designed a classic rectangular-shaped pool that is 16 by 32 foot in size and has that sleek modern look. “Everyone in the Hamptons has the gunite rectangular shape. It is the most elegant,” he says. The pool, he explains, is a cobalt blue diamond bright with quartz finish. Before the installation, the house – that is close to a hundred years old- had a simple concrete patio. in order to keep the character of the home, Abbrancati chose a brick looking veneer that would blend in with the existing bricks to make it look like the pool was always there. “I didn’t want the pool to look like it was an addition. I wanted it to look like it was built with the house 100 years ago,” he says. Travertine pavers were added throughout. Additional features of the property that Abbrancati built was a sunken down natural fire pit made from rocks and lava and an L-shaped bench for seating.
One of the corners of the pool features a blue stone counter three feet wide that is designed to enjoy snacks and beverages poolside.
Seating inside the pool with stools built inside the pool made from veneer with glass tiles is an ideal spot for socializing.
A twelve-foot long natural gas fire pit runs alongside the pool so you can roast marshmallows and eat smores right from the pool. The fire accent is also a beautiful decorative feature that adds ambiance.
A sundeck is accessible on the shallow end of the pool and an ideal place to place a lounge chair.
To keep the pool pristine an ‘auto-cover’ was installed. With a push of a button – located next to the sliding door- the auto-cover opens and closes.
The pool has a gas heater and the temperature can go as high as 104 degrees. The average setting is between 80 to 85. The heater goes on automatically and the technology enables the homeowner to set the temperature that is comfortable for them.

Complete Backyard Design and Construction, Smithtown NY 11787, by Gappsi

Complete Backyard Design and Construction, Smithtown NY 11787, by GappsiAfter the construction of a two-story colonial brick house, this backyard was left as an open canvas for a full creative design that included a plethora of amenities. Starting with a raised patio and balcony railing, this allows comfortable daily use to walk out of the house to the barbecue or to use the spa. The spa was built on a raised platform for easy access from the top patio. The patio steps were paved with flamed Amagansett granite pavers and treads. The brick columns were built on the raised patio to enhance the railing and decorated with flower pots. The raised patio allows a perfect view of the entire backyard. Many amenities were included in the backyard design. The 16’x32’ vinyl swimming pool was built with an auto cover and a self-contained sheer descend water feature set across from the pool. The patio around the pool was constructed with mocha travertine. A mosaic stone pebble inlay of a bloomed rose highlights the pool steps. Decorative flower pots are seasonally decorated around the pool. The pool house was built with a bathroom, T.V. room and an outdoor bar. The bocci court was built with crushed white marble dust and is equipped with lights for nighttime use. A Versa basketball court that includes lights, basketball hoop, and surrounded by netting so the basketball doesn’t go outside the property line. A dog run was built with synthetic turf and is surrounded by a black chain link fence. The remaining space in the backyard was covered with artificial turf in which a putting green was inlaid. This backyard was designed and built with low maintenance in mind. From the evergreen shrubs to the natural stone travertine patio and synthetic grass. There is no need for lawnmowers or any weekly maintenance. These homeowners can enjoy their backyard all year round without interruption from weekly up keeping. Caste aluminum furniture ornate the patio and allows comfortable seating in backyard patio areas. Nicolock Paving Stones | Installer | Contractor | Company | East Northport | Long island NY | 11731

Nicolock Paving Stones | Installer | Contractor | Company | East Northport | Long island NY | 11731Letter from Customer for work completed in 2008
“We spent a lot of time to investigate and look around for the best person who did driveways and the backyard work. After looking at many other contractors’ work and seeing Giuseppe’s work we quickly decided to give our project to Giuseppe to design and built our swimming pool with an auto cover. Our pool is safe and it stays clean thank to the expertise of Gappsi Pools. We had a salt water system installed and Gappsi did a great job building it. He got our permit very fast and completed the pool very quickly We had Nicolock colonial cobble autumn blend paving stones with Granite City borders and full nose coping as the masonry patio build around the swimming pool. The backyard also incorporates a multi-level raised patio with a bbq and bar sitting area; planting beds for flowers and trees were created along the top of the walls. Walkways were built on both side of the house to connect to the driveway and the front of the house. The driveway was designed with inlays of fans for the driveway apron and a large circle designed courtyard with a paver art sun design in the center and a grand entrance walk way to the front door… Giuseppe has a lot of knowledge of what he does. His work amazed us when we went to see many projects he did many years ago. Those places still look good like brand new. He really works hard to give you the best product and he really cares for the best end results. He has such amazing ideas and he listened to all our needs. Like other contractors, he does not talk you into doing more work with him if it’s not going to look good. He gives you the best advice. Doing a brand new construction we came across many contractors but no one was as near good as Giuseppe is. He starts the Job when he tells you and finishes on time. It was very difficult to go through all the construction we did and dealing with other contractors for the house. His work was so fast and neat. After having him work on our backyard and the driveway we really wish that we had a contractor like him doing our whole house. Giuseppe’s workers were very nice, respectful, on time and meticulous. We also want to mention that In our community, we came across at least 4 people who worked with him in the past and are very happy with his work. We recommend Giuseppe and Gappsi and welcome others to see the beautiful work which he did in our backyard and the driveway.”
