Landscape and masonry for Brookside Multicare Nursing Center in Smithtown NY was remodeled by Gappsi. Starting with the court yard, an old 10 ft wide concrete sidewalk was removed and new Nicolock pavers were installed. A new putting green was built in front of the gym room where it can be viewed from the inside through the large window facing the courtyard. As focal point, a large berm with landscaping and a pond-less water fall were built as a backdrop to the putting green, the entire courtyard surrounding it was graded and sods were installed throughout.

The water in this faux pool is hard enough to support people who wish to get a view of the softer water just yards away. Adjacent to a catering hall, the roof plaza deck is a subtle metaphor: hold a great pool party without getting wet. The illusion of the water’s motion is cleverly introduced into the pattern, even in the whirlpool bath. The pavers rest on a thin layer of bedding sand over a waterproof membrane. Breathtaking, multilevel water fountain and 4000 square feet of exquisite details of paving stones walkways add vibrancy to the entrance of this senior citizen residence complex. Color of paving stones blend in with the natural rocks of the water fountain. The paving stones layout incorporate the original design of a cluster of berries and a vine with leaves that flow throughout the walkway surrounding the water fountain. Paving stones were installed on 1 in. grated sand over 9 in. of recycled concrete base. Gappsi Edge Restraint system was used to secure the walkway border.

Outdoor Kitchen Designed and Built by Gappsi in Setauket, NY.
Gappsi provides masonry construction in Setauket, NY and all of Long Island. This outdoor cooking island was constructed with cement block walls and veneered with natural stones. The counter top is tan brown granite, the twin eagle grill is in the center and the sitting areas are on both sides. The right side is in the shape of a circle as a table can sit several chairs around it; the left side has a two-level area with a higher back for taller stools, the bar area matching the sitting wall was built around the main table with light piers on each side, and it was capped with rock-faced bluestones. The patio pavers installed are tumbled Nicolock village pavers in Adobe Blend and the paver joints are filled with polymeric sand and sealed.
