Basement remodeling contracting company serving clients in Nassau and Suffolk County Long Island NY. This basement was remodeled in Smithtown NY 11787. It was a total transformation into a living area that included all spread foam insulation on the exterior walls with wood stud construction, 1/2″ sheet rock throughout for the walls, and the ceiling was taped and speckled with teal color on the walls and white on the ceiling.
As a Basement Remodeling Contracting Company, we understand how important it is to make sure there is no water coming through the basement walls and floors. It is important to make sure that the external foundations walls are well waterproofed and insulated. A layer of liquid tar was applied on the exterior walls and a 6 ML clear plastic was applied over the tar to make a continuous waterproof membrane. Two inch styrofoam panels are placed on top and then the soil is filled in to push against the foundation walls for a better insulation on the outside. R15 fiberglass insulation is also installed in between the 2×4 studs against the foundation walls. It is used to soundproof the basement from the rooms above.
This basement is a full living extension to the house used by the homeowner as a party room for occasions such as birthdays and holidays parties or simply family gatherings. It is a big open room that incorporates a full kitchen built with oak wood cabinets and black granite counter-top and back splash. Appliances include a refrigerator with microwave, stove, sink, an oven, TV, a play area, and a wine seller. The floor was installed over the existing concrete slab and consists of very durable porcelain tiles. The supporting columns are wrapped with wood veneer and stained to match the windows and kitchen cabinets.
