a free formed swimming pool with composite steps for the shallow area as well as for the deep end the installed a bench in the pool did a hard bottom for the pool floor and created a 2 level patio starting with the pool patio and the raised patio by the house. The stones we used were selected from the Gappsi show room we used the pompei lime stone with moca travertine full nose coping and border for the entire pool patio. We used natural sandstone wall to build the raised patio wall face and the 2 stoops by the back yard doors the raised patio were paved with moca travertine Giuseppe, Kevin ,and Mike were the people that designed and ran the construction of the back yard from start to finish . After having alot of different contractors at my home over the years the people at Gappsi were by far the best to deal with from start to finish with out any surprises or added costs. Not only did they do an outstanding job they were also very reasonably priced and would definitely use them for future projects. Thank you Vallen Family Centerport
Estimate for paver driveway stoop and portico Bethpage long island
First off thank you very much for coming on your wife’s birthday but next time reschedule!! I’m always here and definitely would not have minded…
Anyway with regards to the driveway just wanted to make sure that a couple things were included so I don’t need to waste your time and go back and forth on some things:
What material would you recommend for our driveways?
Drywell – 50-100 gallon needed on Scotts side of the driveway if available. Can you let us know our options on sizes so he can decide please
Scotts Driveway – I know we discussed the options for having some sort of inlay for a car area that he can seal yearly in the event that some oil or car residue spills and that’s durable enough to withstand weight of trucks on car trailers, etc… What material would you recommend if any? Do you think this is the best approach to keep the driveway stain free? If so, then whatever you use would you recommend to make some sort of design centered with the portico to tie it in together?
Steps – Obviously this needs to be included in estimate
I am going to wait to see your design based on the survey as I was a little confused with the layout you said ( I understood the half circle ) but was unsure of were to park additional cars and that is key. I looked at some pictures and drove around and notice many with a short driveway straight on the outer sides connecting the half circle and didn’t mind that on my side since Scott is going to have a straight driveway as well but I am open to any suggestions on the look as you are the expert :-).. I just need to coordinate with removing the landscaping wherever it will be. I would like to keep it as simple and economical (well at least tell Scott I am) as we can get but still look amazing as possible while very functional…. I know you get the idea and of what we are trying to achieve here which is why we called you guys :-)..
Looking forward to seeing the design and estimate I think :-)…. I’m just waiting for one more estimate on the construction of the portico and will make my decision on that but thank you for bringing Charles.. You have such a nice group of people working for you. They are all a pleasure!!
Landscape Contractor Designers-Masonry Contractor Designers Long Island
DREAM COMES TRUE! I built a deck in my backyard and wanted to compliment it with a patio. We researched options with other contractors prior to visiting the Gappsi Showroom in Smithtown. Once meeting Giuseppe our search ended. Giuseppe with his design team and 3D rendering of our backyard truly amazed my wife and I. He came up with a design that was perfect for our backyard. Travertine marble was used for the patio while Nicolock pavers and blocks were used to create a fountain and fire pit with seating. An inlaid design in the patio made it truly unique. Giuseppe’s professional and courteous crew arrived daily on time and did not leave the site until the job was completed. His attention to the foundation of the travertine pavers was very professional. The property was prepared properly to avoid problems with tree roots in the future. The finished product is absolutely beautiful and flawless. We have received many compliments on the design and workmanship. Rolando and his team are also to be complimented for their landscaping design and installation to complete the final project. Giuseppe is a fair, honest and reputable contractor that I would highly recommend to anyone considering a beautification project for their home. Peter & Vikki Lipari

House underpinning-concrete pumping in to basement-crawl space conversions
Hi it’s your favorite person again writing you some sweet poetry :-). Scott has a question that I know you can answer and probably assist us with since you are the cement man, pool man, paver man, construction man and everything else!!!
Anyway, we are digging out the basement and are placing floor jacks for temporary support. We are going to do cinderblock walls 2 feet away from the existing foundation and will need footings, cement poured in the cinderblocks and a floor poured. Not too sure if the footings and the floor get done at one time and the cinderblock walls we do with bags after or it can be done all once. Anyhow, the size of the area is 12×24 and was curious to know if you could pump cement from Scotts driveway through our basement window to complete this? If so, got a rough estimate??
I made an appointment fro next Tuesday night to see you and Charlie but Scott really wants to be here for the driveway piece and basement piece and is only available on weekends so I am planning on calling Farah to see if you do estimates on weekends so we can discuss this also…. I love to keep you thinking 🙂
We were planning on waiting on this but as usual Scott forgot a minor detail which is that I don’t want cement truck on my new driveway once you do them!!!
Don’t worry after this years work we are thinking cabana in the backyard for the following you so you wont be rid of me for a while!!
Courtney
Hello Courtney,
The floor should be poured first and then where the walls will be built you should leave rebar’s sticking out of the floor, this way when the back walls are built the rebar’s will tie the walls to the floor once the back walls are filled with concrete.
Also how are you guys taking the dirt out? Because it could be cheaper bringing the cement in the same way, because to pump the concrete would be too expensive the pump alone would coast $1000 and you only need 3.5 yards of concrete and if you bring it in by buckets it would be about 180 buckets of cement.
One suggestion is you should install the block wall first and just put about 4 ” of concrete as a footing and bury half of the first block below the finished floor level this way you can just bring in some sand and some bags of cement and after you are done building the walls get a truck of concrete. Then when I come over I want to see if we can just create a shoot to pass the concrete trough the window by making the cement liquid. You do not need a pump but some extra help to do it and pour the floors and fill the walls at the same time.
Let me know how did I do?
You did great and we appreciate your help.. We are about 60% dug out and the dirt is coming out through a small basement window and also being walked up the basement stairs and out the door into dumpsters an old drywell cesspools… I think we are going to put this on hold for a little bit but still undecided as to what to do as their is so much going on in this house lately..
