The crew was at the house yesterday to fix the depression. They starting filling the pool and the water are now at the level where they put the tape. I shut off the water. Is there anything further that I need to do or will the crew be back to take a look? Let me know. Thanks.
This problem was caused by a cesspool build at the same time as the swimming pool. And as the ground around the new concrete ring settled it also made one section of the pool bottom settle creating a depression in the lower side sloped area of the swimming pool bottom.
We waited a while for the ground to settle before we went and drained the swimming pool removed the liner and fixed the depression. It is very common for sink hole or depressions to appear on the bottom of the swimming pool. Scott, my wife and I reached out to the family member who is in a position to help us with the issues regarding variances and permits. He thinks it is excessive to remove all that stuff and do all that work, especially the fence, when we will be applying for the fence variance and correcting any and all issues including the take down of existing structures, which will be in the way of our new project. He has advised us to sit tight while he makes a few calls and that we should hear from him shortly. As soon as I get his call back, I will call you with his input.

Scott – Ok. We actually have a gigantic rectangular tarp, which is
what the previous owners used to cover the pool. It is large enough to
cover both the pool and the (non-hot) tub. Previously they used
rectangular containers of water as weights. Daniel reported that he
had been advised that bags of water are better, and that they require
a larger cover. So, we don’t know if this cover is large enough or
not. Do you want to come by and look at it, and if it is big enough
we’ll go with it, but if not we’ll measure for something else? Also,
the pool has not been serviced for several weeks (obviously), so it is
full of leaves and the chemicals are probably quite off-balance. Do we
need to do something about that before closing the pool?
