This project was designed by Giuseppe Abbrancati and installed by Gappsi for a private residence in Southampton, NY. The oversized lazy L-shaped gunite swimming pool is built in line with the house’s diagonal angles, complementing the modern look of the multi-level home. Each side of the swimming pool makes for perfect view from all the windows in the house.
Gunite swimming pools, besides being very beautiful, are also very functional and can include many different features. This Gunite Pool & Backyard Design includes a large sundeck with 12 inches of water for chairs and benches in the shallow area. An elevated spa was also added in the center of the sundeck with a spill over on all four sides. LED lights were also added throughout the pool, and the pool surface consists of Diamond Brite Tahoe Blue quartz finish. The edge of the pool was finished with blue stone coping and waterline porcelain tiles, and the pool was fitted with a saltwater chlorine generator system and a propane gas heater.
The surrounding of the pool was completed with a patio to compliment the swimming pool layout, and was built with limestone natural pavers. Laminar deck jet water features were placed around the pool creating a park-like effect in the day, and at night, a stream of light travels through the water spilling in the swimming pool. The deep end of the gunite swimming pool is regulation for diving with an 8-foot gray colored diving board and a flight deck base. The rest of the backyard was completed with sod and tree installation. Gunite Swimming Pool & Backyard Designer in Merrick NY
This small backyard was designed by Giuseppe Abbrancati and installed by Gappsi in Merrick, Long Island NY in 2018 on a spectacular waterfront property. The layout incorporates a gunite swimming pool with a spa, corner stairs, benches, and sheer descent water features that were installed along one side of the pool facing the house. The pool also has a safety auto cover, automation system, LED lights, salt chlorine generator, and an ozone system.
The pool finish consists of Diamond Brite French Gray with tile markers installed at the edges of the steps and benches. Pennsylvania blue-stone was used for the coping and the patio was paved with Pompeii limestone selected from Gappsi showroom. A gas fire pit was installed on the circular shaped patio and Acadia Go-Green synthetic turf was used to cover the remaining yard space. The deck was modified to accommodate the new backyard layout.

This backyard is designed and constructed by Gappsi in West Islip, Long island NY 11795. The layout incorporates a 18×36 gunite swimming pool rectangular shape. The swimming pool is only 6 feet deep and is a non-diving pool, thus a diving board cannot be installed. The steps are built along side the 18 foot long shallow area and it also has 2 benches in the deep end to exit the pool. The finish of the swimming pool is done with black-colored quartz dust. Two LED lights are installed on one side and the hydraulic system, consisting of two skimmers and 2 inch 40 schedule PVC [gravityform id=”1″ title=”true” description=”true”]plumbing.
Hayward equipment is installed including a gas heater, VS pump, cartridge filter, salt-chlorine generator, and an automation control panel. The swimming pool also has a safety auto cover and a mesh winter cover. The coping and patio consists of 2 inch thick, flamed Pennsylvania bluestone for the pool coping, and 1 inch flagging for the remainder of the patio. On one side of the swimming pool, there is no patio and the grass comes up to the pool edge. There is also a pool cabana built and an outdoor cooking island. The landscaping, including flowers, grass, and trees. The pool and patio design is created to compliment the Hamptons-style home, finished with natural, weathered cedar shingles.

Award Presented To Giuseppe Abbrancati Gappsi, Upscale project built in Islip, NY uses 60mm Roma I and Roma II stones, both with rounded edges, plus 6-inch square Rustico pavers. The stones are placed in a running bond pattern, beginning at the driveway apron and continuing around each circle. This creates the illusions of changing lines of eight circles that lead to the grand, courtyard circle of a neo-classical, two-level home. Charcoal Rustico stones are used as inserts to enhance flowing lines of the driveway and outline the courtyard, while fans are added between circles to give the driveway a scalloped border. The home’s backyard patio and pool deck incorporate the Roma stone profiles with larger Coral Roma I and Corso stones, combining fan and herringbone and running bond patterns

“Initially, my husband and I wanted to only redo our front stairs. We had several contractors give us quotes, but no one could design what we were visualizing. Giuseppe at Gappsi changed all that. He worked over all the problem areas and did a better design than we imagined. When we visited the showroom, we decided to extend our project: we did our driveway and added a side patio. We used Amagansett 6×9 flamed and tumbled granite paving stones that we selected from the Gappsi showroom for the driveway, the walkway, and for the border of the backyard patio.
