Just completed this backyard project in Dix Hills NY. We installed Fiorito travertine for the entire backyard. We built a new stoop in a semicircle shape by the backyard sliding door and build a 16×16 Pavilion. All faced with synthetic wood columns and ceiling all covered, We built a new breeo fire pit zentro stainless steel and veneered with all fiorito travertine rock face. We remodeled the entire pool. Installed the new 2 inch coping same travertine coping porcelain tiles in pool waterline and tile marks on the steps and plastered the pool with dark gray marble dust. We also installed the slide. The clients are very happy. This gunite swimming pool was built in Coram, NY by Gappsi. The construction design layout, created by Giuseppe Abbrancati, consists of 10 inch walls and an 8 inch floor with 5,000 PSI dry-shot cement mix. The travertine pavers surrounding the pool were installed on 4 inches of poured concrete base and one inch of clean sand. The joints between pavers were filled with polymeric sand.
This gunite swimming pool was built to accommodate the clients wishes. It measures over 1,400 sq ft of surface area, and has a depth going from 46 to 50 inches deep. The Fiorito used for the pool coping and surrounding patio is one of the most beautiful travertine patterns selected from the Gappsi Natural Stone Showroom collection.
The pool design also incorporates a large sundeck that features a jet bubbler. It is entertaining for the kids and also serves as small water fountain feature in the center of the sundeck.
The deep end of the gunite swimming pool contains a free form stairs and bench design. The plaster finish applied on the swimming pool walls is Diamond Brite Tahiti Blue, which is a combination of Tahoe Blue and Super Blue Diamond Brite quartz finishes. 6×6 inch tiles were installed at the water line and 3×3 inch tiles were used as markers at the edges of the steps and benches.
The pool has many options starting with 3 large LED lights in the pool, one small light in the sundeck step, and the bubbler used in the sundeck has a light as well. The entire gunite swimming pool has a full automation system that works from a smart phone, allowing the customer to control the gas heater, salt chlorine generator, and Ozone system. On the outside of the pool, a wood-burning fire pit was built with firebricks and veneered with travertine. And at the deep end, a Inter-Fab X-Stream 2 pool slide was installed.
Our experience with Gappsi began in August., 2017 and it was purely by chance. My husband found their website, and dropped by their business after setting up an appointment with another pool builder down the block from them. Immediately upon walking into their place of business, he received a hospitable reception which gave him the “warm and fuzzy” feeling he likes to get when doing a business transaction. This is his indication of an honest, trustworthy company. And his intuition proved to be right. Having spent months prior doing research, we knew exactly what we wanted, a gunite pool to fit the existing landscape of our nice sized yard. The owner, Giuseppe Abbrancati, came out, took notes and pictures of our yard, and within a week, had computer generated renderings, which we were able to modify on the spot. Giuseppe and his son, Emanuele, did a phenomenal job at giving us exactly what we wanted, instead of trying to sell us on the expensive add-on features that we didn’t want. And what that enabled us to do was go bigger with our free-form design, one of the largest residential gunite pools they had done and at a very reasonable price. The only major hiccup was when their project manager had to be replaced, but once that hurdle was overcome, the newly assigned project manager, Tosh, made sure getting our pool, the gas lines, the electrical, the masonry, the sodding and landscaping were all completed in time for the opening of our pool in June, 2018. We are delighted and thrilled beyond measure at our resort style backyard. We would recommend Gappsi, a family-run business, to all!! The gunite swimming pool has a rectangular shell with a bench on the long side of the pool, a sundeck with a bubbler, steps, and a spa. Spillover water bowls also function as fire features. The swimming pool is 8 feet deep, and includes a diving board and a safety auto cover. The backyard is elegant, functional, and simple. The Fiorito travertine patio for the fire pit area, the pavilion floor, and the pool patio area were bordered with blue stone strips to match the swimming pool coping. The pavilion was built by Gappsi and was designed to match the house style and details. The outdoor kitchen was built with Wolf cabinets and Twin Eagle appliances, and it was veneered with Fiorito travertine to match the pillars that hold the fire bowls and the fire-pit. The construction of the vinyl swimming pool concrete walls consisted of assembling aluminum molds while after the walls are then poured, reinforced with rebar. The pool floor base was made with dry-pack sand and cement materials to harden and avoided foot prints. One large light was installed in the deep end and one small light was installed in the shallow area. The pool also had two wide-mouth skimmers encased in the concrete walls along with four returns and two deep end bottom drains.
After the installation of the Loop-Loc textured liner, the coping and patio were installed using Fiorito and Moca travertine pavers. An ice chest was installed next to the pool bench in the shallow area for easy access to refreshments. A TimberTech deck was also built coming out of the sliding door with railings and steps. All pool equipment were from Pentair, including the gas heater, pumps and filter, and salt chlorine generator.
This project was constructed by Gappsi in Coram, NY. Granite City Stone Ridge pavers with inlays of marble blend for the apron and borders were installed for this residential driveway. The first floor of the house and stoop were veneered with Gappsi imported Fiorito Travertine. The stoop and railings are made of PVC and the upper floor has vinyl siding.

Pavilion built in Dix Hills/Huntington Station NY by Gappsi. A complete outdoor living area covered under an elegant pavilion that incorporates a fireplace with a tv, a bar area, and a sitting area. Fiorito Travertine wall veneers and Moca French pattern travertine pavers were used for the floor. Stone piers are built to support the Azek columns and all trim and molding work were also done with Azek.
Cooking Island and raised bar was Designed and built by Gappsi in Dix Hills NY. The semi-circle design of these out door kitchen incorporates many appliances, from the bar sink, grill, smoker, oven, refrigerator and a breakfast station and many access doors for storage areas. Walls were constructed of steel studs and cement blocks and then veneered with Fiorito travertine. The counter tops were made out of polished Brazilian granite and floor in between the 2 island are travertine French pattern Moca. All appliances are Twin Eagle also supplied by Gappsi. Backyard pool patio installed by Gappsi in Westbury NY with natural stone pavers. Scogli di mare limestone pool coping, 6×9 Melfi limestone random pattern and inlays of 6×9 scogli di mare pavers. Stoop and cocking island veneer were veneered with Fiorito travertine. The all pool and house patio were cleaned with hot water low pressure washing, joints were filled with haze free polymeric sand and sealed with urethane sealer.
