At the heart of this outdoor living transformed backyard project is a stunning 16 x 36 vinyl swimming pool with concrete walls, expertly installed by the Gappsi team. This pool serves as both a focal point and a functional space for relaxation, exercise, and family fun.
The pool features a sundeck and shallow steps, providing a safe and inviting area for lounging and young swimmers. Two bubblers enhance the visual and auditory ambiance of the sundeck, creating a resort-like experience right at home. The autocover provides safety and efficiency, keeping the pool clean and secure when not in use. At the deep end, we installed built-in benches with a stand ledge, offering a comfortable and social swimming area.
Elevation and Layout: A Two-Tiered Design
One of the most distinctive features of this backyard design is its multi-level layout, which addresses the natural grade changes of the property. The pool is situated in a raised area, just two steps above the lower patio adjacent to the house. This thoughtful elevation change not only optimizes the use of space but also enhances the aesthetic appeal and flow of the backyard.
To support this elevation, we constructed a retaining wall that serves both functional and visual purposes. This wall was veneered with Eldorado cultured stone, chosen to complement the house’s existing exterior. It was topped with G041 marble coping, seamlessly coordinating with the pool’s edge detail and tying the space together beautifully.
Patio Design: A Natural Stone Showcase
Surrounding the pool is a spacious and elegant patio. Constructed with G045 blue limestone, part of the Gappsi Natural Stone Collection. This stone was selected for its rich color, non-slip texture, and durability. It makes it an ideal choice for high-traffic areas near pools. The pool coping itself is finished with G041 marble pavers, providing a refined and cohesive look that mirrors the retaining wall capstone.

Strategically located past the house, this circular patio offers unobstructed sightlines to the scenic landscape. The bump-out circular design blends seamlessly into the surrounding lawn and visually connects with the retaining wall. This curves gently into the space. Melfi Limestone pavers for the 2020 season (G095). A very unique multi colors combination of gray, blue, green, and rusty brown color blend Limestone at a great price. This beautiful natural stone has a very natural cleft undulated textured look, resembling a natural slate and incredible Details in color shade variations! It requires zero maintenance and it comes with a lifetime warranty on weathering or color changing. We also offer 2 inch coping and 24×24 columns caps in this material as well. We are in the process of installing the patio. We are using our newest addition to the natural stone line. The G044 is a blue and white limestone with beautiful color arrangements in it. it’s been laid out in a French pattern. We installed two fire and water features, they are going to spill over into the pool after the pool is completed and running. The water fall is almost complete. Flower Beds are left here to put evergreens and create some privacy. This is where the kids are going to be diving into the pool. Once it is all completed. The slide is being installed. The pavilion is almost completed, we have to finish with the azek. The landscaping will be next, and it will be done in about two weeks. On the wall we used split face travertine veneers, the outdoor kitchen will be built in this area. We will update you next when the project is totally complete.
