More and more, outdoor areas include a fully functional outdoor kitchen, fireplaces or fire pits, cozy seating, advanced lighting, and heating systems.  Our recent Pavilion installation included veneered columns for each post to sit on, which enhanced the overall design and aesthetics.  We added a kitchen with an island under it.  The island includes a Tan Brown Granite countertop.  This long-lasting natural granite is appropriate for a variety of indoor and outdoor applications including walls, floors, countertops, and other architectural components.  On one side the counter is raised to bar height.  A bi-level countertop invites contrast from a design perspective, which can help you achieve some visual interest in your Gappsi kitchen design. This contrast could be further emphasized by using different countertop materials for the lower and higher portions of the counter.

Bring home the artisan craft of wood cooking with this stellar oven designed to trap the heat and full flavor of burning wood, creating unforgettable pizzas and more.  We piped through the roof with the insulator pipe to add the Alfa 4 Pizze Wood Countertop Pizza Oven.

Alfa 4 Pizze Wood Fired Oven Features

Ceramic fiber insulation maintains long-lasting warmth and cuts down wood consumption to a minimum. Fitted with extremely useful stainless steel lateral shelves to place oven trays, ingredients, oven dishes, and necessary cooking accessories on. With the built-in peel holder, necessary utensils for wood-fired cooking are always within hand’s reach.

  • The oven floor is made of interchangeable refractory tiles. 3 cm thick, designed to store heat and convey it to food for cooking.
  • Wood-fired ovens with stainless steel domes were studied to reach high temperatures while consuming very little wood.

We utilized G035 Fiorito Travertine from the Gappsi Natural Stone Collection for the floor.  In addition, we used G035 Fiorito Travertine for the veneers on the outdoor kitchen, fireplace, and columns for the Pavilion posts to sit on.

The inside of the pavilion is left open showing the barewood stained with mahogany color with custom chandeliers. The fireplace is wood-burning and veneered with Fiorito Travertine selected from the Gappsi Natural Stone Collection.

This is a very beautiful layout and is useful for sunny or rainy days.  It offers an all-year-round cooking area plus a hang-out place. This is the latest pavilion built by Gappsi in Dix Hills NY.

Gappsi’s latest backyard renovation design was located in East Northport, NY.  Our team started by installing a new limestone patio.  It was paved with the Limestone G044 selected from the Gappsi Natural Stone Collection.  The stone pavers are a combination of grays, whites, and beige colors with a marbleized look.

On the countertop, we used polished granite including a raised bar area for additional seating. To complete the outdoor kitchen we installed a Twin Eagles bar sink, a Summit refrigerator, all Twin Eagles stainless steel cabinets, and a Delta Grill including a side burner.

Fire Pits | Fireplace

There’s nothing quite like cozying up to a warm fire especially when it’s in your own backyard!  We installed a fireplace in the back and a vinyl pergola.  We installed a wood-burning fireplace and veneered it with the same silver travertine in a random pattern.  Added to the design is a combination of boxes on both sides of the fire chamber to store the wood. The fireplace was custom-designed. Gappsi’s team used bluestone treads for each mantel on the fireplace and over the wood box.

Outdoor Living Space In Westbury Long Island

Gappsi’s latest backyard design on Long Island in Westbury NY includes a gunite pool, patio, outdoor kitchen, and landscape design to bring together an outdoor living space to enjoy for years to come.

The Gunite pool was  20 x 50 and finished with super blue diamond bright pool coating and porcelain tiles in the water line. When it comes to pool finishes Diamond Brite has been the industry standard for many years. It’s available in colors including Aqua Quartz, Cool Blue, and Super Blue. Diamond Brite typically lasts 8-12 years before it starts to become faded and spotty.  Diamond Brite™ pool finishes are blends of selected quartz aggregates and fortified white Portland cement ideal for new or re-finished swimming pools. Available in a variety of colors and textures. Diamond Brite™ finishes are factory blended to provide the pool owner with an extremely durable and attractive alternative to traditional pool coatings.

The Gappsi team built a step bench in the deep end with tile markers to define the edges of the steps, and in the shallow area, we built the spa, sundeck, and bench.

The pool is equipped with an auto cover to make opening and closing the pool effortless.  Unlike solar covers, auto covers completely seal your pool with the touch of a button. Sealing your pool when it’s not in use prevents evaporation, the leading contributor to heat loss. Reducing heat loss can lead to warmer water temperatures; extending the swimming season up to three months in some locations.

Patio Stones And Pool Coping Options

The stones chosen for the patio and pool coping are from the Gappsi Stone collection G043 marble pavers.  The Island was built with Eldorado prefab boxes and veneered with silver travertine in random sizes with a 4-inch veneer. The client chose all Twin Eagle appliances for their outdoor kitchen. The Twin Eagle appliances include a burner, gas grill, storage cabinets, a Summit refrigerator, and a sink, with a granite countertop.

The Gappsi team also updated and refreshed the landscaping to include some exotic plants to add to the outside elements.  Using tropical and exotic plants will give your home a vibrant, lively, lush look, that will, in turn, make you feel invigorated and alive like you are on vacation at a beautiful tropical destination.

It’s generally advised to seal granite pavers to help prevent any staining.  Sealing also helps to prevent the growth of any moss or algae. You may want to consider sealing your granite slabs, especially if your stone is light in color, as any stains will be more visible. However, sealing is not compulsory and there is a wide range of sealing products available which will provide various results. Some sealants will simply seal and protect, whereas others can be used to enhance the color of your slabs. When sealing your granite patio you will also help to protect against general wear.  For example, fading can sometimes occur over long periods. As for when to apply a sealer, there are no specific guidelines.  Most landscapers and tradespersons will have their own tried and tested methods.

Often people choose to seal their paving slabs before laying them.  This may prevent any staining during the laying process.  Others prefer to leave their stone unsealed for up to a year, allowing the granite to weather naturally before applying a sealant. Natural Colours & Variations

Granite products are entirely natural and will feature variations in color, tone, and pattern. This is a feature of the product and our product images will give a great overview of some of the natural variations you could receive.

Colors will appear more vibrant when wet and subtler prior to installation before the stone has absorbed any moisture.

Gappsi installed this backyard over 10 years ago, and recently sealed the pavers. The granite pavers look just as good as the day they were installed at the customer’s home. This is the benefit of using natural stones for your patio pool copings. We installed a freeform pool with concrete walls and a vinyl liner. For the patio and coping we used Amagansett Granite Pavers selected from the Gappsi natural stone collection. We designed and built the portico and the outdoor kitchen with travertine mocha veneer.  The appliances used were all Delta Appliances and a Summit Refrigerator with a granite countertop.
