This private residence located on Long Island, NY features the design & installation by Gappsi Group. The image to the left pictures our team applying a custom Quartzite finish on a beautifully designed Gunite pool and spa which overlooks the water on the Sag Harbor sound. The pool walls were built with Gunite shot in place that consisted of high density 4000 PSI sand and cement mix. The Quartzite finish is applied during the last stage of the pool’s construction. In this case, the customer also chose to have a Jandy Aquapure Salt Water Chlorine Generator, and Cartridge Filter installed to keep their water extra clean and crystal clear.

This indoor gunite swimming pool with auto cover was built by Gappsi in Glenhead, Nassau County, Long Island NY. The pool walls were built with gunite shot in place that consisted of high density 4000 PSI sand and cement mix. In this particular pool the auto cover box was created as part of the pool shell. A walk out bench in the deep end and wedding cake corner steps to enter and exit the pool. Pool finish is made of a marble dust plaster which is a mix of marble dust sand and white cement. The top of the pool walls are finished with a 6″ pool tile border that goes around the perimeter of the pool below the coping. The wedding cake steps and walk out bench are also outlined with the pool tiles to create more definitive edges. First, the pool shell structure was built and then the ventilated room was built around it, and last the patio was finished inside the room. The marble dust was finished last. In this pool we used a Jandy aquapure salt water chlorine generator system, and cartridge filter. The automated pool cover was not necessary, because of the enclosed pool, but when the cover is closed it is useful to keep the water from evaporating into the room when the pool is not in use.

Let us help you modify your in ground pool and backyard with the right kind of lighting to fit your needs. Gappsi installed the lighting features surrounding all-natural stone patio and walls in this photo. The pool has Led Lights which are energy efficient giving off a nice clear yet soft glow and is available in an alternating multicolor effect or a single color (which you see in the photo). Wall washer lights reflect off the textured stone giving the illusion of running water down the Travertine veneer walls. Spot lights are installed under the trees behind the sheer descending water feature beside the pool. These spot lights are installed in the ground directed up at the trees bringing out their defined shape illuminating them at night. Floodlighting features are installed on the outside walls of the house to enhance the main sitting area where the tables and food islands are set up. The barbeque pavilion is also lit up by installing high hats in the ceiling and soffits. The high hats are a recessed lighting feature giving the chef and your guest the perfect ambiance for entertaining. Outdoor lighting is used for multiple reasons both decorative and functional. Different types of outdoor lighting and fixtures are used for specific uses for example brightening a pathway with lights gleaming down, illuminating a tree with light fixtures cascading upward, and accenting column pillars or water features.
