Having a pool is a great for those hot summer months, family get-togethers and other occasions, but keeping it clean and safe when not in use can be a real hassle. That is unless you have an automated pool safety cover installed. An automated pool safety cover is simply a pool cover which stretches over your pull automatically with a push of a button. There is more to it than that though. This type of pool cover has a list of great benefits, some you may not have considered, and this type of pool cover is much safer than other more traditional pool covers. Different types of pool covers

These systems operate via remote and “roll” the pool cover over the entire body of water. A mechanism on each side of the pool holds the tarp tight so that none of the water is exposed. This has the additional benefit of being a whole lot safer.
Do pool covers keep the pool cleaner?
One of the main expenses of having a pool is keep it clean. Along with the chemical balance, objects like dust, grass and leaves that find there way into your pool can make it harder to keep clean. During the winter months when most do not pay a lot of attention to their pool this problem can become worse, sometimes pool owners may even need to drain then refill their pool should the problem get too bad. Of course covering you pool can go a long way toward avoiding these problems. Automated pool covers work best because they cover the entire pool, while most older covers only go over a portion, leaving plenty of room for debris.
Safety issues pertaining to pool covers
One of the main factors to consider is the safety of your pool, especially if you have small children or pets. Pool covers which are not held tightly on each side and which cannot support weight are actually more dangerous than an uncovered pool. If a person or pet falls in they can become tangled, making it more difficult for even strong swimmers to get out.
Automated tarps are held firmly in place, and a quality cover will be able to hold more than enough weight to ensure should someone accidentally fall in, they will have no problem getting back out.

A gunite pool is another name for a concrete pool, the walls, bottom and steps are made of concrete poured between steel beams for a watertight seal and one that will not corrode over time. Concrete also provides, traditionally, more options as far as design, lending itself more readily various designs, curved walls, custom stairs and other features and much more. It is named gunite because the walls are sprayed with a mixture of sand and concrete for a very specific look and feel, the mixture being called gunite of course. This type of pool has many advantages and disadvantages and there is much to consider prior to choosing the type of pool you would like installed in your backyard.

Since the invention of the backyard pool, concrete has been the most popular choice, and it still has many advantages and is often recommended by designers, contractors and home improvement professionals.
This type of pool almost universally lasts longer and is easier to maintain. This in turn will add value to your home over the long-term while saving you costs in the meantime.
The next, and perhaps given the various advances in the different types of pools available, the more important advantage is the amount of customization possible and the ease of customization. Fiberglass pools for example are pre-manufactured and must be “dropped into” the area provided, limiting your options, especially if it turns out you cannot dig where you though… which happens. Gunite on the other hand is very flexible and the design can be changed at nearly any time during construction, and can be designed from the beginning nearly however you would like.
Finally, gunite pools are simply sturdier. They last longer, keep their shape longer; they are in fact nearly indestructible. There is a very good possibility your gunite pool will last longer than your pool as long as it is not filled in… even then the outline will remain unless you decide to dig it up for some reason… which is not recommended.

Please-leave the water bags in my yard-I have to get the cover situated again and this is becomming a problem. My attention to the pool has not been focused this month as all my energy has been dedicated to the death of my brother who passed away on November 7th. Now I have to get back to reality and take care of getting the leaves and water off the pool and securing the cover. You can understand what I am saying so please help me out with this, Thank you, Karin

Please take a look at the attachment. I received a letter from the town of North Hemsted and they are asking for several items/information to complete the permit.
I will go down to the town today and talk to them about items # 7 (I WILL CANCEL THAT APPLICATION) and # 8. I am not sure what to do with item # 9, the previous owner had a little air conditioner installed with a small AC condensing unit (European Air Conditioner). Not sure if I should go for a permit or just uninstall the unit.
Let me know what your thoughts are.
