Pavilion Built In Dix Hills By Gappsi
This 20×24 pavilion was designed and built by Gappsi in Dix Hills, NY. We built it with 6 columns, all wrapped with synthetic wood and Azek. This outdoor structure allows the homeowners to enjoy their backyard in both sunny and rainy days. The pavilion not only looks elegant, but it’s also very functional and includes great amenities.
A wood burning fireplace is accompanied with a large screen TV and enough room for a comfortable couch area in front of it. Underneath the pavilion, we installed all Twin Eagle Appliances: a bar island with a sink, storage cabinets, and refrigerator; and we installed an outdoor changing room with a shower. The adjacent area is already set up for a future outdoor spa to be placed also.
All white trim, moldings, and maintenance-free paneling were used to veneer columns and ceiling. The fireplace and bar island were veneered with tumbled split face travertine veneers to match the travertine french pattern sealed patio throughout the pavilion and surrounding area. Gappsi supplied all the materials used in this project.
Gunite Swimming Pools Designer & Builder in Plainview, Long Island NY
This backyard and landscaping was designed by Giuseppe Abbrancati and is located in Plainview, Nassau County NY. The challenge was to deal with a very small backyard having a deep slope in a newly constructed residential site. The backyard was built in two levels, with a stoop and platform built by the sliding doors leading down to the patio area. The gunite swimming pool is built on one side and with a large patio on the opposite side, for the main dining table and bbq grill area. A set of wide stairs lead further down to the natural gas fire pit and a grass play area. A sheer descent water feature was built with 3 waterfalls and lighting accents were installed on steps and throughout the backyard. All patios and walls were paved and veneered with Moca travertine selected from the Gappsi showroom. The gunite swimming pool built by Gappsi has many options and was built with the highest quality materials and equipment. Starting with 10 inch thick gunite walls and ½ inch rebar 12 on center, 2 inch PVC plumbing for high volume water flow. The overall size of the swimming pool is 20×40. In the shallow area, a sundeck and the spa were built side by side with steps leading down in to the pool shallow area and a bench in front of the spa. LED lights were also installed, along with an automation system that allows the customer to control the lights, the water feature bubbler, spa jets, and the gas heater, with his or her smartphone. The gunite swimming pool also has a salt-chlorine generator system, an ozone system, a pressure driven Aqua clean robot pool cleaner, variable speed pumps, and an oversize cartridge filter. The finish of the pool shell consists of Pennsylvania bluestone coping for the pool and spa, and a Diamond Brite midnight blue color for the inside pool shell plaster finish. The most important feature, suggested and loved by the homeowner that was installed, is the safety automated pool cover. Being in a such tight backyard, it would have been impossible to fence the pool area to keep the their children safe, without distorting the backyard layout.
Complete backyard renovation designed by Giuseppe Abbrancati and built by Gappsi in Massapequa Park, Long Island NY.
The construction of the vinyl swimming pool concrete walls consisted of assembling aluminum molds while after the walls are then poured, reinforced with rebar. The pool floor base was made with dry-pack sand and cement materials to harden and avoided foot prints. One large light was installed in the deep end and one small light was installed in the shallow area. The pool also had two wide-mouth skimmers encased in the concrete walls along with four returns and two deep end bottom drains.
After the installation of the Loop-Loc textured liner, the coping and patio were installed using Fiorito and Moca travertine pavers. An ice chest was installed next to the pool bench in the shallow area for easy access to refreshments. A TimberTech deck was also built coming out of the sliding door with railings and steps. All pool equipment were from Pentair, including the gas heater, pumps and filter, and salt chlorine generator.

Do you need to pressure wash pavers before sealing them?
Yes! All concrete and paver surfaces should be cleaned before applying any sealer coating. It is very important that the surface is clean because any stains or materials that get trapped under the sealer will not be able to be cleaned after it’s sealed. Pressure washing pavers is just as important as sealing it.
Using the wrong pressure washing tools could also hurt the pavers. A pressure washer with the wrong nozzle could mark or wear the pavers. The best recommended tool is a high volume, low pressure, hot water pressure washer. The hot water cleans the pavers and prepares the surface for the best result sealing job.
