FAQ about Base material for driveway front walkways long island

Hi Michael,
It was good to see you today, and I really appreciate the time you had spent with me, and the information you had provided. Thank you also for providing the proposal to me so quickly.
I have a few questions regarding this proposal:
1) Please confirm that the $7425.00 price you had quoted for the driveway includes the removal of the existing driveway.
2) For the rip & removal of the existing concrete sidewalk in back of the front apron and in front of the existing driveway; the proposal states “pour 4″ 3500 PSI concrete, wire-reinforced”. I don’t see the tie-in for pouring new concrete, as I thought everything would be set in 6 inches of oversized crushed concrete, and 6 inches of recycled concrete base, with the pavers to laid on top of one inch of sand. Can you clarify this for me?
3) I think the way we had discussed this, this front sidewalk would consist of pavers, and would continue the driveway to the new front apron, and that the new apron would also be done in the same paver style as the driveway. Can you confirm that the front sidewalk will be excavated to a depth of 12 inches, everything would be set in 6 inches of oversized crushed concrete, and 6 inches of recycled concrete base, with the pavers to laid on top of one inch of sand. and the price includes this depth excavation and the paving stones as well?
4) For the paving stone walkway; the proposal states the excavation depth will be 8 inches. I thought we had discussed the excavation depth for the entire job as being 12 inches. Can you let me know about this?
5) Can you provide me with a sketch as to the recommended layout for the new two-car driveway, with the radius we had discussed from the new garage to the sidewalk?
6) As a favor, you were going to provide me with the recommendations for the 4500 PSI concrete and rebar, wire reinforcement and ting the rebar and the wire reinforcement together for maximum strength of the new garage concrete floor. Could I ask that you provide this information to me, so I can give it to the contractor when we are ready to build the new garage?
If you can reply whenever you have the chance, I would appreciate it.
Thanks & Best Regards,

Antique Pavers-designers-suppliers-installers-long island

by Giuseppe Abbrancati
When it comes to Antique pavers there are four main types: Imitation, Clay and Brick, Natural Stone and Tumbled. Antique pavers give an old world feel due to their look and texture. Imitation Antique pavers are just what they sound like, they are an imitation of the antique paver and they are less expensive but may not be as durable as the real thing. Tumbled antique pavers are usually made from Bluestone. Clay pavers are man made.
Antique pavers can be used for many different types of applications such as: patios, walkways, driveways and sidewalks. Antique pavers come in many different colors, some natural and others manufactured. They can be installed in a few different styles, most commonly running bond or herringbone patterns and of course you can get a random pattern as well. Sealing the pavers is recommended to preserve the longevity of them.

Travertine patio & landscaping Nassau County long island New York

By Happy Gappsi Customer
Last summer we installed an in ground pool in our backyard and chose Gappsi to install the brickwork surrounding the pool. Gappsi installed the patio around the pool and built round stairs and a platform by our back sliding door. We selected griggio dorato travertine for the patio and coping and absolutely love it. For the driveway, we chose sable blend Dublin coble tumbled stones. Rolando & Giuseppe designed the patio and ran the crew to complete the installation. Gappsi completed the project with the design and installation of the landscaping surrounding the pool. The entire crew that worked on this job was top-notch and we couldn’t be happier with the way the project turned out. Every single crew member was professional and always a pleasure to have working at our home. Whenever we have someone in the yard that hasn’t seen the finished project yet, they are always quick to compliment the beautiful job Gappsi did with both the brickwork and the landscaping. From start to finish, we would highly recommend Gappsi for any brickwork or landscaping projects you are looking to complete

My husband and I purchased our home in 2002 and did a complete remodel. We had a hard time finding anyone that would do a job that they promised us, from spacklers to landscapers. We had several estimates for our driveway and though some were less expensive we chose Gappsi. Giuseppe personally came to our home, sat down with us and went through all the options we had with stones. He promised us that he would design something for us and we would be happy. Well he did exactly that!! My husband was concerned with the weight of his Dodge truck and trailer leaving a groove over time, well its been 9 years and the only grooves are the ones between stones… Ha Ha. His crew was amazing; they worked through the snow and freezing weather. We wanted our driveway to be “different” then all the other ones out there and Guiseppe came through with adding a beautiful Butterfly design at the bottom of my stairs that I love to see when leaving my house. Our experience was by far one of the best we’ve had with any contractor. We are sorry that Gappsi was not doing landscaping at the time or we would have had them do that too! Great Guy to work with and Worth Every Penny!!!! Nassau county swimming pools-Natural stone patios long island

By Happy Gappsi Customers
We had our swimming pool built & had Gappsi design & install the entire backyard. The backyard patio had to be elevated because of the high water table since we are on the water. Gappsi suggested the use of Hanover cedar blend chapel walls in mixed sizes of 3 & 6 inches. The layout incorporated a hot tub area & a fire pit & all the paving materials around the swimming pool. Backyard patios & walkways were Galattico Travertine we selected from Gappsi showroom. We also used a Rosato Travertine border throughout. For our driveway Gappsi installed Nicolock stone ridge oyster blend paving stones. Everything came out beautiful. I wouldn’t have done anything differently. Thanks again. Al & Lori West Islip
