What is it?
The Unilock setting is a patented housing for setting a gem stone flush or above any jewelry item permanently.
How it works?
The Unilock has the ability to create its own press fit action when the barrel shaped tube is squeezed inside one hole using an impact tool where it remains permanently locked.
For what its used?
The Unilock is used to set any round stone over any jewelry item- castings, stampings, turned or formed without solder or glues. The Unilock is used with gold, silver, steel, titanium, tungsten carbide, ceramic, aluminum, and wood or inside any gemstone, pearl, coral, onyx etc.
Any similar existing product that it can be compared to and what are those differences?
The Unilock can be compared to Signity’s Pre-Setting, with its calibrated stones. However, the Unilock can use any uncalibrated stone and hole inside the jewelry. The Unilock is seamless and the barrel shape exercises a uniform holding pressure all around the inside of the wall of the hole.
Is it easy to use?
The Unilock needs only one drill to create the hole and only one impact tool to lock it into place (both the drill and the impact tool are available through Stone Set Technologies.)
What are the advantages in production?
The Unilock eliminates the time consuming process of sorting and calibrating stones. It eliminates the one by one hand setting cost factors. An unskilled operator can assemble simply and quickly any round stone over any metal or material-which was never before possible. The Unilock is used today by Jewelry Manufacturers as a modular system to reduce production costs and to reduce their jewelry inventory as they can assemble the requested colored stones instantly at the time of the receipt of their order.
Currently a new element for Designers?
The Unilock is a vehicle that can be loaded not only with stones but with any round object up to ¼” in diameter-for example emblems; and then be set into the jewelry either above or flush, without solder or glues.
What can the Unilock be made of?
The Unilock setting is available in Sterling Silver, 10kt-14kt-White/Yellow Gold and 18kt-Yellow Gold
How many sizes?
Nine-U160-U190-U240-U290-U350-U420-U530-U630-U750
How many models?Four- Regular “U”, Short “UX”, Straight “UZ” & Long “UY”
How many applications can the Unilock be used for?
Currently 25. If you have ideas not mentioned on our applications list, our Research & Development team will find a solution for you.
How can we order?
The Unilock can be ordered in three ways- Using your gem stones- Using our gem stones- Or- Without stones. Request any of our three order forms which best suits your needs via email, fax or telephone.

•Low cost, no maintenance
•No cracking
•Much stronger than poured concrete,
•asphalt or stamped concrete Perfect for freeze-thaw conditions
•Pavers move with soil conditions
•Easy installation

1.As a homeowner, why shouldn’t I attempt to install the pavers myself?
We don’t recommend homeowners installing pavers. It is a craft and it takes a long time before you can become skilled in doing an excellent job of installing them. If you do attempt to install them yourself than please let us advise you. Return General FAQ
2.Do you leave the extra pavers with me when the job is completed?
This depends on the amount that you purchase it is recommended that you make an allowance for cutting and reserve pavers. Make sure you keep them! It will be difficult to match up the exact color from a different batch of pavers. Return General FAQ
3.How do pavers “interlock” between one another?
Pavers are designed with patterns and shapes so they will interlock. Grouting sand also add to the friction between the pavers, thus enhancing their stability. The pavement as a whole is kept together by edge restraints, these restraints keep the edge pavers from moving. Return General FAQ
4.Are you able to cut the pavers so they fit around circular objects?
Yes, installers take special care in making the necessary cuts so the pavers fit around circular objects. Return General FAQ
5.Can I use concrete pavers near a tree?
There is no problem with using pavers around trees. You should consider leaving a 4-foot area between the tree and the pavers. Consult your local landscaper for these recommendations. Return General FAQ
6.What about water drainage off my patio?
Yes, water actually runs off the surface of the pavers as if it were a solid slab and very little water drains into the sand. It is important to consider slope when planning your patio. While runoff is more than percolation (water draining into the sand bed), percolation assists in drying the pavement as soon as rain or water being pored on the surface ceases. Return General FAQ
7.What is the difference between a brick and a paver?
Bricks are made of fired clay. Pavers are made of colored concrete molded into various shapes. Clay tends to be softer and more susceptible to flaking when used in a pavement, however concrete pavers are not suited for fire places or Barbeques where as bricks are ideally suited. Return General FAQ
8.Should I use a sealer on my pavers?
Sealing your newly installed pavers will help to shield them from stains and the harsh Tropical sun. However, if you choose to use a sealer, just remember that you will be setting yourself up for maintenance. The pavers will have to be resealed once every one to two years, depending on the traffic. This is an option a customer must make. Return General FAQ
9.How long do concrete pavers last?
In Europe, they have seen pavers last over 50 years. This is much longer than other pavements under normal residential use. The longevity of your interlocking pavement starts with using high quality pavers manufactured by Millennium Paving Stones Ltd. and using a competent installation contractor to execute a proper installation. If pavers are not installed properly they may not last as long as they should. Return General FAQ
10.If pavers need to be removed for below grade repairs, can I replace them afterwards?
Yes, unlike other pavements, concrete pavers can be easily removed and reinstated without any visual or functional changes. This benefit allows you to conduct maintenance or repairs to underground utility fixtures and the base should it start to settle. Return General FAQ
11.Will pavers be slippery?
No, their surface texture is ideal for obtaining safe traction in pedestrian, vehicular, and pool applications-even when wet. Return General FAQ
12.Do the colors fade?
Pavers uses the highest quality pigment made for adding color into concrete pavers. However, because of the extreme power of the sun, you will still have some fading over the years. Dirt and other dust particles usually mask the colour of the pavers thus giving the appearance of fading, cleaning the pavers and sealing them usually lifts the colours back to a new looking state. Return General FAQ
13.Do pavers need to be mortared into place?
No mortar is needed to install concrete pavers. We use Washed sand, which will bind the pavers together with a friction joint. This sand is swept or driven into the joints and compacted to achieve the proper installation. Return General FAQ
14.Can I use pavers over my old concrete pavement?
Yes, you can put pavers over concrete. There can be cracks in the old pavement as long as it is still level and has not “heaved” up in any areas. Concrete makes a great base for our products. We will still need to retain the border of your project. You should also bare in mind that using pavers will raise the finish level of the pavement and as such may interfere with doors, gates and other surfaces that adjoin the area. Also a rise in the finish level may cause water to be backed up or to flow in the wrong direction. Return General FAQ
15.Do concrete pavers stain?
There is no way that we can prevent oil from dripping on concrete pavers. Yet, because pavers are denser than regular poured concrete, they will be easier to clean if the stain is cleaned soon after it happens. If you are working around your paver patio, walkway, or driveway with paint, cement, or mortar and should accidentally spill this on your paver surface, you should clean it off right away before it has a chance to dry. Otherwise, it will stain your pavers. If cleaning of the stained pavers is not possible, you will be able to remove the pieces that are stained and replace them without needing to saw-cut and leave a scar in your paving. Sealing also helps to reduce staining, not prevent it. Return General FAQ
16.How hot are concrete pavers if I use them around a pool as a pool deck?
Being individual pieces, concrete pavers won’t build up heat like a solid sheet of concrete and that heat will tend to dissipate between each stone making pavers a cool product to use around a pool. One good tip is to always use light colors for a pool deck. Return General FAQ
17.Can pavers be put over a driveway that is cracked in several places?
If the cracks in your driveway have started to drop or heave too much, which means that it doesn’t have much reinforcing steel, it is recommended the old driveway be broken out before pavers are laid. If your cracked driveway is still basically flat then it can used for a base for your pavers. Any minor dips can be filled with concrete mix before spreading your sand. Return General FAQ
18.What is the curing time?
You can use your new walkway, patio, or driveway immediately after the installation is completed. Return General FAQ
19.Who uses pavers?
Pavers are right for you whether you are a landscape architect, developer, contractor, or homeowner. Return General FAQ
20.Why are pavers better than concrete or bricks?
The joints between pavers eliminate cracking that is normal to conventional asphalt and concrete pavements. Return General FAQ
Installation
1.Should we have the pool titles replaced and resurfaced before installing pavers around a swimming pool?
Yes, if necessary. That is an item you will discuss with your installer when he come out to give you an estimate. Return Installation FAQ
2.Will the installation of pavers be messy?
No! When the installers are finished installing the pavers, you can resume your normal activities in that area. Return Installation FAQ
3.What is the best way for me to select my paver color(s) and pattern(s)?
Come to our showroom or look at our web site. Although our brochures and web site give you a good idea as to what the colours look like you should visit our showroom to view them in person, this is the best way to choose your colours. Return Installation FAQ
4.When do you use thick pavers on a job?
Thick pavers are used in industrial application, where heavy vehicles are driving on the pavement, examples cranes, trucks, tractors extra. Return Installation FAQ
5.Can I do my own measurements for the area that your company will install the pavers?
Yes! If you are accurate in your measurements and provide us with a detailed lay-out of the area you want to install the pavers over. However, we caution you that if the measurements are incorrect, we may run out of material for your job. It is recommended that you get a professional installation contractor or someone familiar with paving to do the estimate for you. Return Installation FAQ
6.Why do I need to come to your showroom to pick out my pavers?
Showroom has a large selection of paver patterns, designs and colors to select from. It would be virtually impossible to take all of our samples out to our customers. By looking at the actual pavers versus a picture in a brochure, you can actually see the difference in the pavers’ color, shape and texture.Return Installation FAQ
7.Are pavers just laid on dirt?
NO! They are only laid on approved DOT materials. If a suitable base dose not exist then a base made of course marl not marl dust is used. The thickness of the base will depend on the use of the pavement and the characteristics of the sub grade. Your installer will advise you and make proper recommendation. Return Installation FAQ
8.What keeps the edges from moving?
A concrete support or curb wall is used to keep the edge pavers from moving. If a wall currently exist then this may be used to restrain the edges. Return Installation FAQ
9.What goes between the pavers?
Pavers joints are filled with washed sand that is swept in and compacted to fill the joints. Return Installation FAQ
Maintenance
1.Will the pavers mildew?
Mildew grows on surfaces that are kept cool and moist over an extended period of time. Pavers are more resistant to mildew as the surface retains water less that other pavement surfaces. Using a water proof sealer and power washing are other tips on how to reduce mildew. On the other hand some customers find this to add a rustic appeal to their pavers and actually encourage its growth. Return Maintenance FAQ
2.Do I have to keep adding sand?
As part of the installation process, we ensure that all crevices are filled with the proper amount of sand. Return Maintenance FAQ
3.How do I control weeds and grass from coming up in my paver patio or walkway?
Upon request and prior to the installation of pavers over dirt, they can be treated with a soil sterilizer. For the most part, if the pavers are installed properly and a compactor was used on the pavers to lock them into place, you have cut off much of the growing environment. There will still be times when seeds can blow in and start growing in the sand between the cracks. When this happens, you can usually pull them out very easily or spray them with a weed killer and remove them. Return Maintenance FAQ
4.Can dirty or broken pavers be replaced?
Yes, you can be assured of replacement pavers by keeping extras from the job. When replacing a paver, scrape out the sand in the joints from those surrounding the paver to be removed. Use two screwdrivers to wiggle the paver out. Others can be removed by hand. Insert the new paver, replace the joint sand, and compact the paver into place with a rubber mallet.
